Description | |
After the events of SoU, you find yourself in an unknown section of the plane of shadow. Can you survive what comes next? ------------------ This module brings back the henchmen of SoU in a unique way for the sake of interesting dialogues. Other than the henchmen, the module is pretty much a hack/slash module. Please give comments after playing through the module!!! **UPDATED 12/10 : Fixed some bugs. ** |

Like his other module, not very well put together.
Apparently the starting point is in the wrong place. I have fixed that and will upload the fixed version at once!
Thanks, I may redo this one.
Surreal; looks like it was to be continued into another mod.
HotU in particular ;)
but some things will never be explained. Author mentions wanting to expand the puzzles, but ntohing about giving explanation.
Vote in progress (need to check some info in module)
Regarding mod itself:
1. Fate of SoU Companions: (+)
2. Given Relic of the Reaper: (+)
3. Unique use items: stone works, mirror doesn't (+0)
4. Ends in Waterdeep: yes (+0.5)
5. Ending level(should be at least 15, but since I finished SoU at 13th.. I will accept 16th): 16 (+0.5)
Final Vote: 8+==
Some QA:
- hench won't level up and they don't listen to commands
- wrong starting point (obviously I have fixed that)
- encounters are respawning
- trapped henchmen gives multiple XP
The author didn't like the idea of frequent reloads, the "planar" atmosphere is decent, the enemies are weird enough, I lke that. What's frustrating is how useless (some point they were useless in SoU too) can be Xanos or Dorna; well, they are not useless, they seem to work against you all the time. Given the fixed amount of deaths they can experience till the game gets over you'll be finding yourself in a deadlock in a little time.
No way instructing them at staying safe and out of reach, lemmings seem more cautious in comparison.
Very short, very basic. No story, no explanations, many unanswered questions. Doesn't feel like this module is the bridge between SOU and HOTU. Nevertheless, this module does have the Realm of Shadows atmosphere.
No way to move ahead out of the initial 5 or so areas. Low level combat with respawning baddies, one NPC to talk with and trade, and a cave and portal that you cannot use. If you try to use the Shadow Portal it tells you (as you are transitioning!) that you need a henchperson to go on, but by then it is too late. Nobody to recruit anyway! If you do move along you end up getting killed for some reason in the following area. Not my idea of a functional module.
