Description | |
The Elder God of Darkness wages war upon Taelurien, and my permanent employer, Lord Jakar, Champion of Volroc, has sent me from Cormyr to the coastal city of Valra. Here I shall meet a local contact of mine who will expect me in the Temple of Solyana, in Valra's noble district. His name is Nico Taerlian, and since General Jakar did not come out with it in the first place, I am eager to see what kind of work is to be done... This is a tale not only of winter in the world, but also of the winter a man can carry in his heart. It tells of a hired assassin in a time of twilight. The general background tone of the adventure is one of melancholy, and its anti-hero, who is included with the module, is not a mortal fiend or fanatic, but a fallen, sometimes even noble, human. |

A very short mod with a very linear story and without much surprises. I missed different approaches to a solution in some of the quests. The pregenerated character isn't optimal for the job, I think a rogue(12)/shadowdancer(3) is much better here.
Second to that. The encounter design is "talk to enemy first" - typical villain :D Not very assassin-y.
The story is quite interesting.
The module is stand-alone, though some sequel were planned in the past.
Some QA:
- High Priest of Danthares won't heal
- "he"(where it should be "she") - Nico when referring to Ashira
- you can lock yourself in the skeletal guards tombs
I really like this one, it's pretty dark and desperate :D
