Banished from Neverwinter in Chapter I for Dereliction of Duty, Lady Aribeth was reconciled with the Church in Chapter II and is now awaiting your decision as to whether she will be a Monk of Ilmater, Cleric of Helm, Champion of Torm, or Paladin of Tyr once again. She will then have four quests to complete for the Lord's Alliance. This module sees her through these and completes the story cycle. |

This is the best module I've ever played. From the storytelling, to the quests, and the character interactions it left me feeling very happy and satisfied at the end. It was almost as if you fixed what Bioware broke with Aribeths fate. I always was saddened by what really happened, but this has fixed that. This is the happy ending that I'm sure everyone who loved Aribeth wanted for their male PC. I actually almost choked up at the end because of how well done this was and thinking that FINALLY the Hero of Neverwinter gets a happy ending. You are a very talented story teller, this felt every bit as real as the OC did so I think I'm actually going to consider this the official canon continuation of the OC in my mind and just forget that SoU and HotU ever existed lol. Thank you for that experience it will give me a happy memory of the OC instead of a depressed sad feeling. Well done!
Hi folks,
I'm really enjoying this series, but I've run into an unusual problem that I've never seen before.
Aribeth does not participate in any combats!
She'll move around, run & stand near me, etc., but never takes a swing!
Sometimes it's almost impossible to get through a battle without her assistance.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried issuing her orders via radial menu? Do you have Tony K AI override (or any other hench AI override?)
Hi Werelynx! :)
Yes, I tried her radial menu first thing (as I have in countless other mods) but no response. I do not use any AI overides.
It's really strange, she just stands there (taking no damage, by the way) and will follow me around an area during a battle, but does not strike.
Thanks for your reply!
I just realized that I've left out an important fact:
This "stand there and do nothing" state only seems to happen when another character has joined the party! When it's "just the two of us" she behaves normally. Hope this helps, if anyone is still reading! :)
This might be a system of henchmen of your henchmen then. Sucks. Sometimes they listen to your commands but sometimes htey just obey their master (your hench) and effectively do nothing.
You could try employing her to be the first place below your portrait I think. then the other hench will make problems. Your decision.
Hmmm, interesting! That makes sense and sounds like it might work!
Silly question: How do I change the order of who's #1, #2, etc. ? (Thanks!)
Fire via conversation hench, then rehire. Don't know which one. Just save beforehand.
That's what I thought, too. I tried that, bringing her up to the #1 slot and then 'rehiring' the others, but her behavior still remains the same.
Oh well, we tried! (I'm nearly at the end of the mod anyway, but I hope this thread helps someone else!) Now, where are those spiders...
Thanks again! :-)
Unfortunately even when the other characters leave, she still doesn't fight (and dies, of course!). No hak or mod installed except those for the series. I hope I'll find a way to fix this, I'd hate not finishing this series.
So I have played moduels I and II and love them. But for some reason whenever I start mod III it says that I don't have a hackpack required. I have the mod in (obviously) and the hak pack as well. It is however it seems not reading it. Is there any way to fix this?
Do you have the HAKs under 'Required Projects' installed? There's a HAK included with the module in the archive, but it requires CEP2 and the Aribeth's Revival HAK too.
I know I have CEP2 and definitely the Aribeth's revival. Where is the required projects installed area? If you could point me in the direction there that would be most appreciated since I am probably missing that.
It's below the download on projects that have other requirements. Do you know the name of the HAK that is missing?
A quick look through the comments on the index page don't mention any unlisted requirements. There is the HAK that comes with the archive too, if that was missed (AribethRev1_CEP.hak)? It's seperate from the one used in the other parts.
I have all the extra requirements on the page downloaded, as well as AribethRev1_CEP.hak in hak. They are all in the proper place, but is there any way to double check in game or find out why besides starting up the moduel and it saying that I am missing a hak pack? It says to look at the index, how do I do that?
The index page is just something I check to see if the author forgot to link all the requirements when they originally uploaded it on the Old IGN Vault. That can be reached through the link next to title in the description. It's useful if you get stuck on some modules too since there are sometimes tips and other comments on the page.
If you want to see the name of the missing HAK then check inside the 'Logs' folder in your NWN directory. It should be towards the bottom of the text file named 'nwclientLog1.txt' or something similar.
Example:
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "ctp_babylon.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "swordflighta.hak"
EDIT - I opened it up with the NWN Toolset and checked what HAKs are used. It only lists CEP2 and the Aribeth's Revival HAK that is included with the archive, so you may not have completely installed CEP2.
It says to look at the log but it is easier to open module in toolset.
I am sorry I have not been able to tinker with this recently, been busy but i have tried this on another computer after getting everything put onto it. The exact same issue. Both can play other downloaded moduels, any really, and both have only this in the log
nwclientLog1
nwnclientError1
I have looked at the index, I have everything, I have re downloaded this moduel and every component at least twice, sometimes more for some part. I just want to finish this amazing trillogy!!
You need to open nwclientLog1 in Notepad in order to check. The missing HAK message should be towards the bottom. The module would open and work fine if it wasn't missing a HAK, so something is misplaced or not getting copied over properly. I was able to test-run it and get to the opening area without issue.
What OS are you using? Windows 7/8.1/10? It could be something like UAC (User Account Control) interfering when you try to copy the HAKs over, but it would be best to see what it thinks is missing first.
You mentioned other modules working fine - do those require CEP2 as well? In any case, don't worry you'll be able to play this soon I think :)
EDIT - Here's the exact list of HAKs used just in case you want to do a check through your own install to make sure you have them. These HAKs should all be placed in the 'hak' folder in the NWN directory, along with the rest that come in the full install of CEP2. There should also be some CEP2-related files inside of your 'TLK' folder, if those are missing, the game would throw out an error stating that it is missing a talk file.

Good news! I had all the hacks, but keept re downloading and replacing. On the third try of this (totally not because I was getting desperate) It worked! How logically? I don't know, but it worked and I can play it now. Thank you very much for your help though in trying to get it to work for me. Can't wait to play : )
Nice to hear that it's all fixed; enjoy the module! :)
Are you perhaps Linux user?
Not a linux user, no idea why it worked, but gald it did. And holy crap.... amazing trillogy. Just..... amazing. Even more so if you have played BGII
Nice romance module series.
Some QA:
- typos(in conversation, if not prompted otherwise): "meet him"(should be her) - Anadriel; "property. nigh" - blakmon Tarwater; "heirarchy" - Zacho Lyonald; "comversation"&"ostlers"(should be "Ostlers") - Alen Undry; "orpose" - Aribeth; "ostlers"(should be "Ostlers") - Ellzir; "iin" - bromaz; "granfather.vowed" - Khurin Thunderhand; "relaitves" - necklace of draconic protection(item); "to e trifled" - Atlantis golem in underwater tunnel; "Kau Toa" - The Mirror of Sune journal entry; "father'sbeing"&"thugs"&"recipre" - Merugo; "neverwinter" - Aribeth in Darene Fettian conversation; "not_not" - Linu; "he"(at sentence beginning) - Ecknor Mindozha; "Love. a physical" - Aribeth (frozen landing); "derk" - Valas; "and,,," - Maura;
- description is wrong: it is completed!
- one door in thamaxyl's outpost is not working
- plot items can be destroyd by magic eletrifier (don't know if it's module-related or game bug)
- Vorlan demons ain't evil (smite evil does not work)
- not enough gold everywhere :/
- valentin and friends turn hostile(they were friendly previously) when you load a save in frozen battlefield
- all the mindozha men are still in my party after battle, can't dismiss 'em, can't command 'em
- 3 items in Khurin corpse can't be taken
I'm stucked after the Vale of Sune. Doesn't matter wich options I choose with Maura, after the conversation I get teleported to Anadriel's room, my character is naked on top of the bed and I can't do anything. Moving around with mouse click or wasd doesnt work, I can't even equip/unequip stuff from the inventory.
I'm playing GOG Diamond version of the game, patched with the 1.69 HoTU Critical Rebuild and CEP v2.61.
EDIT
Meh, of course just right after I posted, I figured how to fix that. Kinda. The bug happens only if you click on Maura to start the conversation, if you just walk close and let her do that, everything is fine.
Hi may I ask if you met a critic bug on Maura? In the Quest which the Sune temple was breached by enemy and Maura was sighted to kill two priests, my characterentered the temple to defeat golemns in the first floor then koutao in the second floor. In the third floor Maura was within a colourful barrier and was walking and praying but no interaction with my character can be triggered. I can try attack her but apparently she has infinite amount of life. May I ask anyway met this bug and managed to fix it? Many thanks!
Still stuck with the Aribeth not fighting bug.
@Neilyum: did you by any chance choose the Church of Torm?Edit: fixed it by installing the override version of Tony K's AI scripts.
Very nice module, probably the best of the series, which actually is worth playing.
I couldn't give it a 10 though, because in addition to the bugs and typos already described by Werekynx (plus a few more), I had to reload twice because an important part of the final dialog (and another one before that) didn't fire correctly: make sure Aribeth (and more generally all henchmen) are close enough before starting any conversation.
I also found the final battles pretty difficult (my PC being a sorcerer, that may explain why!): be prepared!
One of the modules worthy of being called a "Masterpiece". The story was great. It was well-executed, it fits perfectly after the OC and it could even become the OFFICIAL CONTINUATION of the OC in my opinion.
The Romance here was also good. You could even get that feeling that it's almost real. It's that good. But what really caught my eye is the ending. Of course, who doesn't want to have a happy ending about the story of "The Hero of Neverwinter and his beloved Lady Aribeth". The ending in OC was really a big MEH. I really hated it. This module was the perfect fix for that.
Automatic 10/10 for me. There were grammar errors yeah, so what? It doesn't stop the module from telling an epic story :D

I am playing Neverwinter Nights now after 16 years since game release and it feels.. fresh, interesting, asking to explore and to read the story to wait what's next and which surprises will I meet.
- Great story. Great language, very fitting into the lore. I have to say, guys - I had troubles (in a positive sense) with it because there are so many old forms and meanings used in dialogs that I have to revisit them often more than once. Beautiful and neat word play
- Great romance. Frankly, if you're not that interested in it I would not recommend to play the module trilogy - but hey, if you're at the chapter 3 - I bet you are interested after all. Aribeth is there like she has feelings, like she cares - and like she's a woman with all the pro and cons of moral love.
- Balanced HnS. It feels engaging and challenging at right times. Though one thing could probably be done to improve - make some key bosses immune to immediate death effects as it is possible to bypass some encounters a bit easy with using those of necromancy (wail of banshee etc)
- Non-linearity in this module. Key decisions allow you to have different things done. I won't spoil - but I liked how author questioned very important things and tempted the protagonists with them, provided variants and so on. I haven't seen this even in official campain much (if any)
As the author, who poured a ridiculous amount of time and effort into this little Labor of Love (literally - it is a tribute to my beloved wife of now 29 years, who has never played an RPG in her life and had no clue what I was wasting so many hours on), I very much appreciate all the kind and generous comments above. I am particularly grateful to "Werelynx" for pointing out some of my more embarrassing typos. It's amazing how many times you can read something and see only what you intended not the screw-up you actually made. Maybe some day I'll actually fix some of this and re-post.
I apologize profusely for the programming issues that many had here. Mea culpa. It probably says something about my career as a Nuclear Engineer that I have an easier time with storytelling than programming. Go figure.
Nevertheless, I'm very gratified that the commenters here enjoyed my little effort. Best regards to all - DWM

I think she's under a spell, and you need to destroy the columns (written black on black to avoid spoiling, just select the text to get the info)
Side rooms need to be addressed...
Enter side rooms off this area. Should help...;-)
Okay, a couple of things! I'm stuck in the Docks area trying to reassemble (Heal) the broken key and then, I assume, go down into the Sewers. Have 4 pieces, but it seems that is not enough! Frustrating.
Going back to Aribeth I, I never found a way to carry the Holy Water from the well, which I did get flowing again, over to the altar, reconsecrate it. I looked everywhere, I think...I saved a game at that point just so I could go back and do this quest item!
Thanks for any help, gang.
This series was a tremendous undertaking, and the care, imagination and effort required must have been staggering! I cannot say enough about this adventure, just play it please! And to have up to four henchpersons and equip them at a time is a major plus for me. Thank you so much for your terrific modules!
I liked the first two installments, and am dying to play the third, but so far it isn't working. I have downloaded and installed it five times now, and every time I try to start a new game in the module, when I go to the character selection screen, it comes back with "Could not load the Module. Missing required custom talk table. It doesn't matter if you try to laod a new character or a saved character. As soon as you click the button to select the character, it kicks you out to the menu screen, and that message pops up! Am I missing something here?? I have the latest version of the CEP, and have installed the hak file and the module multiple times, with the same results!
I just went in and cleared the log. I tried starting Aribeth's Redemption III again, and this is what the log shows-
It must be the CEP 2.6 tlk file. If you are playing this on EE, you did put it into your Documents\Neverwinter Nights\tlk folder didn't you. If you put it in your Beamdog folder it will be ignored because EE only recognises user made stuff placed in the relevant folders located in your Documents\Neverwinter Nights folder.
TR
Thanks!! I reinstalled everything from the CEP 2.6 pack, and that cured the problem!!
Hi folks!
I'm really enjoying re-playing this Chapter (and the whole series again) but I'm having a problem and I could use some help!
Spoilers Ahead...

I'm currently playing through the "Dragons" quest, and I can't seem to get past the 3 Drow Priestesses. I'm playing a Paladin (surprise) and I've used every spell and every potion in my inventory, but they just keep healing each other over & over! I could really use any hints or tips you can remember, as I must have tried at least a dozen times with no success and a lot of frustration. Thanks in advance!! :-)
Just finished playing this, after completing parts I and II as well. This is the best user-created module I have ever played. Along with others, I regard this as the 'official' sequel to the OC and the continuation of the storyline. It is unfortunate that the vault rating system doesn't allow more detailed ratings, as this would be a 9.75 for me. So, the reasons I didn't give it the 'perfect 10?'
The Ostlers Guild quest steals my equipment! At the end of the quest when I return to reclaim my stuff, several magic bags I had are gone. They are not in my or Aribeth's equipment chests, or anywhere else. I was using them to carry all of the loot my character has accumulated since the start of the OC and without them I have no room in my inventory to lug the stuff! Meaning I had to abandon a lot of expensive items (since I cannot sell them either as after selling lots of other items all of the merchants now have 'insufficient gold' to buy things from me).
Related to above, there is a lot of loot to find in this module, and not much at all in the way of magic containers available either in stores or as 'found' items on corpses to help carry it all. Meaning, again, I had to leave a lot of nice stuff lying where I found it.
The Black Blade of Disaster sword found after I kill a Balor in the Threat From The North Quest kills me! Everytime I hit an enemy with it, I instantly die. It is a useful and unusual way for my character to commit suicide, and I must admit it is quite funny - the first couple of times. It's a pity though, because this is a seriously high-powered and desirable weapon, which I cannot use due to it's self-killing properties (I am assuming this is a scripting quirk, and not intentional?)
You killed Lord Nasher! The Epilogue was one of my favourite parts of this module, and I admit I had a lump in my throat and shining eyes when I saw what happened to my hero and Aribeth. That was a moving and beautiful conclusion to the story, but, I would have liked to see Nasher live, at least for a few more years, since his death means one of my favourite characters is now not available for any subsequent adventures my character may have, and I can't really play any user-created modules which have him as Lord of Neverwinter, for plot continuity purposes (as he is dead now). I also now feel guilty for continuing playing with my character without Aribeth by my side (I've just started SoU to continue my character's adventures), without having to add Aribeth as a henchman to every module I might play in the future with this character.
Overall, it was a thrilling, enjoyable and often though-provoking and moving module, and I am very glad I deleted a lot of old files to free up enough hard drive space to install and play it. Thanks a lot for giving us all the chance to enjoy this adventure, and see the Aribeth story to a happy ending at last.
Excellent way to end the Redemption series! I am torn between which church I should join! I have level 24 as a Paladin of Tyr & level 16 as a Champion of Torm equaling level 40 overall. What do you guys think would be best church to join?
I going to play the whole damn OC because of this and finish it like it has never been finished
ok, I dont mind puzzles but when it gets too much, it ruins the game for me. it may be easy to some of you all but to me its really frustrating and I love the Aribeth series. Can some one help with the color lever puzzle in the Ice temple 2 level please? I cant go any further in game till this is done....
yes .... same here ...colour puzzle help ....please
