Description | |
'Fairloch - the majestic capital of Aielund, which has stood for over two hundred years, through war and strife. But all is not well in the City of Justice. With the King away and only Princess Criosa to represent the royal family, shadowy conspirators are seeking to kill her and take the throne of Fairloch for themselves. You and your companions must delve into the heart of the city, brave assassination attempts and evil from beyond the grave while you investigate the real reason behind the war in the west, and discover an enemy far more sinister than the petty villains who seek to seize power...' This is the second act in a four-act story, and represents the culmination of over a year's work. I've added a remarkable level of detail, and breathed life into the city. This new version requires the Aielund hakpack v3.01 to work properly. |

Best mod ever written - rating reflects entire series
Hi, hoping someone could help. Been trying to download the ship interior file required for this mod but the website is down and has been a while. Does anyone know where else i could download this from.
Thanks in advance

FP!
Thanks very much Fester :)
Finally finished the entire saga after weeks of playing. One of the best mod I ever played!
An epic series! Truly recommended to every NWN player!
(rating is for the entire Aielund series)
This is an outstanding epic series that will leave you wanting more when complete. The module author clearly put tons of hard work and effort into building one of the 3 best series on the vault. This series is one of the reasons Neverwinter Nights still exists 15 years later.
The story, the battles, the music, the visuals all are top notch. I solo'd a Human Wizard from 1st to 34th level. I highly recommend this module to everyone.
Voting 10!
I love the winterish theme of this game.
Writings could be more serious sometimes, it's too much modern talk imo, but other than that atmosphere-wise it is top best module, even better than official cmpaigns made by whole bunch of Bioware guys :p Well done Mr. Savant!
I am really enjoying this module, but I got stuck after the giant quest. The dwarves won"t open doors for me...
The fix would be to go to the console and apply a value to my character, but I do not know what value to apply...
Does anyone know?
Thanks
I fear I may have replied too late to help you, but I encountered a similar situation because the Duke had never given me a Letter of Marqe. I was able to rectify with:
# dm_spawnitem LetterofMarque
I do not have much more to say about this module than I did for Act I of the series, except that Act II is probably the best module of the series. The story development is most compelling in Act II- not to simple, not too complex, provides motivation, and moves the action along nicely. Combat generally is not that hard, but there are a few sufficiently challenging battles. Within the series of outstanding modules, this module is the one that seems to get everything right.
Best of a Great Saga.
The Aielund Saga is one of my favourite RPG of all time! The module excels in every aspect, especially in terms of the story telling and companion character development. You can find my review here. Highly recommended to every RPG fans :)
I finally finished Part II of the saga. For a small recap, I played as a Rogue on core rules.
Part II is just better in so many ways than Part I of the Aielund Saga. In almost every way, everything has been improved from the first part to this part.
The module is bigger, there's more detail, and there's even more companions you get to choose from, besides just the two from the first part of the series. For part II, I ended up choosing the druid and the knight as companions. I felt they went well with my rogue character.
First, I'd like to talk about the best aspects of the module. It's impossible not to notice that the detail is leagues ahead of the first module. There's big cities you get to explore, ruins, deep wilderness, and an undercity. I also feel the need to say, the undercity is probably the most creative and inspired location in this module that I got to go to. Just wow! That place was incredibly creative!
It also helps that for this module there is a more identifiable story, as Part I kinda just left you with a trailing story that needed more exposition.
However, there were times where you could do things a little out of order. For instance, at one point I did a quest through exploration, and I had a conversation with the Duke of Aielund about a particular knight... while the knight was standing right next to me. However, due to a quest I'd done previously, the knight was supposed to be gone! Leaving the building did trigger the proper response from the game.
Another part of the game has you trekking through the sewers to stop an event from occurring in the senate building. I ended up going through this part without mentioning this to the Duke. Yet, before the quest would complete itself, I had to go back to the Duke. He had to give me a key to the senate, and it was a little confusing. Luckily, the creators knew this, and the module fixes itself rightly quick after. That was awesome!
Something a little confusing was the quest "Defender of the Crown." There are times where I was sent to investigate a mansion in the wealthy district/senate district. Now, doing things out of order, actually ended up forcing the original quest message to be overwritten. It was odd, it had something to do with revisiting *someone* in the undercity. It didn't confuse me, but it was a little weird.
Some more serious problems for the module were the traps, which I found to be less heavy than the first module (NOT a complaint). However, in the area where you need to do some scouting to find a hunter for the ranger, there were quite a few traps that fell beneath the tileset. There were more instances of this in the area than in the first module, combined.
Next, on the Isle you end up going to, I found floating bones and a big floating tree. It reminded me of Skyrim. Killing the enemies on the Isle was fine. But, as the enemies' bodies turned to bones, they ended up floating afterwards.
In conclusion, though, this is one of the best modules for NWN1 that you can play. Play it!
best Module series ever hands down
What an epic journey. This astoundishing campaign is way better than many offiicial games created by professional companies/writers and it's good to such an extent that it totally annihilates the OC.
So I ran into a odd problem with act2, The module wont load to be played.
Yet I can open it in the toolset so I Have all the haks, this is in EE I deleted my entire override and the only errior log I could find has a message:
Names Differ: Sky_001 SSkyn_001
I did have your artful skies in override so I removed it. no luck. Any ideas what might be causing this? I have hak 3.0 and real skies and just finished act1.
The Aielund Hakpack was updated when I released the Real Skies version, as there is a conflict with the two haks. Make sure you have Aielund Hakpack 3.01! Oh and grab act 2 again, I just released a new version with some fixes :)
Liking most of the changes even tho i found the Frost giants easy.
You should give an award for a player who keeps all the senators alive (difficult but not immpossible)
In the swamp when I ran past the druid leader and made him hostile the message
Tag: DRUID_WARNING2, ERROR: DIVIDE BY ZERO
Came up could not tell what effect it had
I can't figure out why that warning is coming up, given that the script itself is working. Weird, but not fatal :)
There probably should be a reward for saving senators, I might get on to that sometime. I'll check out the giants too, see if I can make it a bit more challenging.
Great.
I'm having the same problem as Voradorr. I updated to the 3.01 hak and the newest version of Act 2. I believe the problem is in the starting area. The module loads completely in the toolset but all three of the The Redoubtable - Below Deck areas all have a "List index out of bounds (27)" error when I try to view them. I am using the Diamond version of NWN, but if Voradorr was using EE and getting the same problem, I doubt Diamond is the problem. The AR Error Log file has the same error message that Voradorr stated.
I really liked the modules, but was perhaps a bit disapointed (especially in act I), due to all the praise. I have played other modules I liked better (Swordflight, Almraiven, The porphet series, A dance with rogues). I think it takes the series into act three before I really felt invested in the story. But it is definitely a very epic tale, and one of the longest series out there. I rate the series as a whole 8/10, but act 4 is more like 9/10, while act I is 7/10.
This is the only module I've played so far, and I have to say I'm quiet enjoying it. I even made an account just to leave a review! My only complaint really is this module feels like it should be single player based on the story (I won't give anything away), since the story all revolves around one central character. Yet the encounters are extremely difficult for one person especially in this Act. Act I was doable, but some of the encounters in Act II are crazy!
I only took off two stars because of the desparity between the story and the power level of the actual module. Other than that the content is great! Also I do realize it is possible to solo this and that it does say in the desciption that it's not nessisarily made for 1 person. Again it mostly bothers me because the story makes it feel like you should be able to run it solo (with henchmen). I don't really like power gaming so this is more of a personal preferance thing, not that I could even if I wanted to since I've forgotten most of third edition anyway, it's slowly coming back to me though...
Edit: So I finally made a build that can complete the challenges in Act 2. It mostly boiled down to my lack of knowledge of the game, and 3rd edition. it also did require a bit of power gaming (Had to look up a guide on how to build a good weapon master haha). But in the end it was very satisfying .
Conclusion: Basically I wouldn't recommend starting with this module if your new (or semi new) to NWN like I was. I started several new games before I got it right, most people wouldn't have the patience for that. However if your a veteran, you will probably love this module!
For a single PC, does this module (or series) have a target number of henchmen? It seems like the game doesn't expect you to play solo (no henchmen) with the resting restrictions and the EMS changes.
This is one of my favorite modules, and I really want to play it, but every time I go to the Ethereal Plane the game crashes. I've been through my logs and it doesn't say what's wrong. Anyone have any ideas??
Sir William Godfrey won't join you if you have an Evil alignment.
However, there is a hilarious and totally appropriate way for a Chaotic Evil character to force him to join: Kill him then resurrect him.
If you dismiss him outside of dialogue, you will have to perform the same feat again, but if you use his dialogue to dismiss him, he will join willingly in subsequent conversations.
I've been using Lilura's blog as a guide and such and I've read that Maggie is a Druid. What confuses me is that on Maggie's character sheet, it says Cleric. But she has the Feat for Druid weapons. Was this supposed to happen or not? Will update if she uses Turn Undead when we encounter Undead which makes her an actual Cleric lol.

On a side note, it also says that you can only bring 2 Companions. Dunno how I managed to get 3 (Druid, Barbarian, Rogue). I also tried getting Paladin Gramps, but I guess he just wants to relax. I also don't like to use the method said on the comment above me. Oh well, I'd take a Party of 4 consisting of different classes (I'm playing as a Rogue/Ranger, with more Ranger levels. Rogue levels are just for Skills namely Diplomacy Skills, Tumble, and UMD whenever the max I can raise it to atm is divisible by 5. ) any day.
Unlike Act 1, The main mission this time is a "Fetch the item" quest. It was great nevertheless. I made a new character and started at Act 1 again this time as NG (Since the main love interest is NG too anyway so that's that) so I could hire Gramps for a party of 5. I'm the type who doesn't want to miss out on a quests and some flavor text if i could. Didn't really encounter some issues so that's great
The story this time is actually pretty great. It explains everything and you'll get an understanding of everything that's happening unlike in Act 1. The story is going the right direction so I'm hoping it stays like that and doesn't fall in quality in the future Acts.
Played the first module, liked it a lot, but now can't play the second one. Getting the message I should update my NWN in order to play. NWN Critical Rebuild 1.69 seems not to be able to write on my nwn.exe, dunno what to do, already tried some things...
Playing NWN GOG diamond...Windows 7
Any help would be valuable
Looks like they've updated the file just recently to require EE or something. I still have a previous version that works fine on a Diamond Edition.
Please help. Area transitions lead to crashing. PLEASE HELP. What am I doing wrong? Please look for my forum post on Beamdog forums.

Sorry, forgot to change the little tag in the file to ensure backwards compatibility. Fixed :)
Thanks a lot! I can't wait to play it!
Module Testing Tournement 2020
What a wonderful adventure ... the music, the script, the characters, the atmosphere, the dialogues ... all were amazing. It is worth starting with a low-level character and seeing it go up gradually. This was especially my favorite part of this adventure. My ratings concern the whole series. Thanks to the author for this wonderful trip ... You should all try it!
Module Testing Tournement 2020
Hi there, firstly module is awesome and I'm enjoying playing it. Excellent job :)
However there is a bug in Act II when you need to find secret door to Thief Hideout beneath Market sewers. No matter what I did I'cant find it. Then I teleported in Thief Hideout chamber to reval the doors form the other side but when I exit them the entry doors still won't show up. I presume that's a bug.
Hello there,
I am currently in the Stoneguard dwarven mines, near to "a small crack" which is obviously too small for an elf like me to go in; however the miner Legnar Ironmonger suggested that a pixie might go in. I then invoked my Pixie familiar, possessed her (its a girl) and tried to enter the crack.
Does not seem to work; I think it should :-)
Hello. You must polymorph your self to a pixie instead of completing the quest
Looks like there's a bug if playing this in NWN Enhanced Edition with the Slaad invasion quest in the Valley of Silence cave. One of the Slaadi seemed to dispel the portal itself, thus removing it and not allowing me to dispel it, therefore the dialogue was stuck at "I need to go close the portal." Easy fix though, just redo it and dispel it before anyone else does.
Otherwise, this module continues the excellence of Act I. It must be one of the greatest modules ever made for NWN. The world building may be its most distinguishing feature, but pretty much everything is firing on all cylinders in Act II. Very nice quest design, lots to explore and interact with in key locations, decent role-playing opportunities, I like the combat balance (I'm playing as a necromancy Wizard for what it's worth), and this series goes the furthest I've seen with improving henchman AI and capabilities.
Hi,
I have a problem downloading paintingpack.hak, could You give me a hint where I can download it?

Please help?
The first time I played this module in NWN EE (with a Druid/Fighter) all went well.
Now I opened it again with a Bard/Ranger and the game crashes every time I save it and every time I try to load it.
Stoneguard Village crashes the game upon entry, and gives the "list out of bounds" dreaded crash in the toolset. It's usually related to misplaced resources in an area or a faulty tileset.
Hello. Im playing act 2 on Android and whole game crashes when area after deep stoneguard mountains(where giants are)loading(at about 30%), what should I do? Ive been everywhere else and finished all other quests.
I played this series the first time around with no issues. Reinstalled the module files to the correct locations and now I'm getting random crashes from area transitions and some textures in the university are missing...just black and I have to hold the tab key to see where the doors are located.
Winodws 11 NWNEE edition.
Were the versions you played originally the pre-NWNEE remaster ones?
