| I finally got around to redoing the standard Kukri model. I think mine are a bit more visually pleasing but then I used a few more polygons. There's only one model currently, in this release anyway, but each piece does come in 6 color options so that's a bonus . I just had a couple of hours to kill and didn't want to do anything massive which this definitely doesn't fall into that particular category. Unlike 'realistic' weapons released by some these are designed to mimic the look and feel of the standard weapons of the game. You may or may not like the standard look of the weapons but if you want to use this pack you're stuck with what I feel appropriate. :) ALthough I appreciate the appearence of the all realistically textured and crafted weapons and applaud the work that went into them I personally find the switch between the two 'types' to be visually jarring, not to mention the inability to mix and match the weapon parts. But that's my personal tastes. All my weapons use my custom patchwork texture which is based in part on the standard BW texture although I've modified or overwritten several of their patches with my own preferences. The 2d Icons aren't the greatest in the world. What talent I have doesn't lie the area of creating icons and on top of that it makes it harder when you want to try and match the existing look and feel. I would rate this as barely adequate. The hak also includes a slightly modified standard OC weapons texture which I think gives a more pleasing look to the standard weapons especially in regards to the bows and crossbows. At the very least it removes the orange colored wood which they have. If you enjoy the standard oc weapon textures over this modified one then open the hak pak and remove the w_metal_tex.tga file from it. This work copyright 2003 by Dennis S.
