LLYRA FACELIFT COMPILATION PATCH HAK
This is a combination patch HAK of overrides which I have put together in a single HAK and used as a Patch HAK. Others are welcome to make use of it as well. I have combined Zwerkules NWN Facelift HAKs with a number of others so that the following tilesets are facelifted:
This also includes the placeable facelift pack put out by Zwerkules, and a fair number of creatures including OTR's deer setup to override the Bioware Deer, Amethyst dragon's classic elementals and so on.
INSTRUCTIONS
Download the archive. Copy the contents to your NWN directory. This includes the file nwnpatch.ini, a patch folder, and v2_facelift.hak in the patch folder. Copy the file and the folder to your NWN directory, and you should be good to go.
The beauty of patch HAK content is that it is preloaded before you log into a multiplayer server. This gives you the benefit of using overrides, but will not interfere with custom content used by another server. Nothing in this compilation extends NWN. All of the content facelifts existing content.
REQUEST
I am always on the lookout for great overriding tilesets. If you know of any that you think should be included in this patch, please make the suggestion. Zwerkules Biomines and Biointerior however will not be considered since I enjoy his extended versions of those tilesets and already make use of them. I also use Project Q's extension of TNO.
NOTES
I have also made use of aenea_reforged, but since that is now included in Project Q I see less need for it and so have not uploaded my compilation of it. My firm opinion however is that NO overrides should be included in HAK compilations like Project Q or CEP. All overrides should be left to player choice. I hope that someday the leaders of Q and CEP will see the light of this.

My only issue with this is that while it says, "My firm opinion however is that NO overrides should be included in HAK compilations like Project Q or CEP. All overrides should be left to player choice," when this is essentially an all or nothing hak compiliation as everything has been merged into one big hak file. It is still essentialy one big all or nothing thing where you're either going to have to take everything as is, not use it at all, accept their being duplicate files (if you already have some of this installed) or spend time pulling this hak apart.
After ripping apart this hak, I did find that some of the tilesets in this are not up on this site yet (as of this post) - City Exterior, Crypt, Desert, Dungeon, Tropical and parts of the Rural set. There's a bunch of creatures and what appears to be heads, which I wish there was more info on.
A great compilation, and really eases the use of me having to go through and combine other things myself, but I have to echo the sentiments of Sachie above and really wish that there was some better documentation on what creatures are changed in here...(not to mention that it seems to contradict with the author's statement of not forcing Overrides upon anyone as part of a Hak!)
The above comments about this HAK forcing overrides on people indicate ignorance about the difference between a Patch HAK and a standard HAK.
A Patch HAK is one way that a player can use a HAK as an override. Patch HAKs are player optional. If a player doesn't use this, as far as I am aware no module will reject you, so I hardly see how a Patch HAK forces overrides of default content on anyone. The user has the choice whether they use it or not, and thus has control of how default resources look.
If on the otherhand a builder associates this HAK with a module, then yes - that would be forcing players to seeing default content in a particular way. But that is the option of the builder. Personally, I don't like doing that, which is why I released this compilation as an option for my own players to use if they want. Most probably will, but then again if someone doesn't want to bother with the download, they can still play. Default resources will be uglier, but no big deal. The game si still playable.
What I made a comment about above in the project description was my distaste for default overrides being released in major compilations like CEP or Project Q, because then neither players nor builders have any choice how default resources look. Its completely controlled by the person who made the compilation. Some months ago I offerred to help Project Q pull all of their default overrides out of their core HAKs and to put these into an optinal Patch HAK. I gave a preliminary version of this to Pstemarie, but I never had time to create a tool so that Pstemarie could do this on his own. Since I don't have much time anymore for NWN, I can't do this by hand for Project Q. If I ever get around to writing a tool however I'll pass it on to the Q team and any other group that is interested.
This is a nice introduction to Patch HAKs for me. I think I've gotten most of what I want setup, but I was curious as to if there are any recommended tilesets that can be used to fill in the gaps which aren't replaced? Castle Interior is one of the big ones I was thinking of, at least I think that's what is used at the beginning of the OC.
Also, I was wondering what the heads are in the HAK? I didn't notice any of them replaced, but I'm also using TheBarbarian's NWN Heads and wonder if they conflict in any way?
Thanks for the work!
