The Community Expansion Pack (CEP) is a large hak pak collection of community-made custom content. Most of the included material comes from content previously posted on the Neverwinter Vault by independent users, with additional content developed specifically for the CEP. Included content is organized to function properly together, with necessary updates made to models, scripts, and .2da files. The CEP is intended to be a "universal" download - players can download this single package to access a large number of modules and persistent worlds that otherwise would have each required their own individual downloads.
Builders using the CEP for their module have the option of selecting which CEP content appears in-game. Custom content from the CEP does not override default Neverwinter Nights content. The CEP has been very successful, and many long-term players have found the CEP to be as vital to Neverwinter Nights as the expansion packs.

This version of the CEP is 2.4 (released March 14, 2011)

zep_on_activate2 (updated with C.R.A.P. materials restored)
Text file tutorial:
In the Module Properties
Events tab
OnActivateItem set-to zep_on_activate2
OnClientEnter set-to zep_on_enter
OnModuleLoad set-to zep_on_mod_load
OnPlayerDeath set-to zep_o0_death
Your module MUST use these scripts or merge them with your custom scripts in these nodes. C.R.A.P. will not work unless you use these scripts.
zep_on_activate2 was changed for 2.3 and the C.R.A.P. portion was accidentally removed. This script has been fixed, however it has only recently been added to the updater -- this is not available in the NWNVault CEP 2.3 download.
I am putting this tutorial together and will post a 2.3 CEP C.R.A.P. starter module with this file and the updated script on the NWN Vault.
ONLY WORKS WITH CEP 2.3 and earlier.
CEP v1.X Installer is an all in one installer for all CEP v1 files.
This installer will place all files that were previously only available in separate downloads.
This .exe file will enable play on all CEP v1 compatible modules and servers up to the NWN
1.68 update. If there are any questions or problems in regards to this download, please post
here or visit the CEP forums at http://cep.veiled-in-mists.org/forums/

CEP for Zombies OR -- HOW TO INSTALL CEP -- for those of you who have no clue.
We hope to have a movie on this process in the near future as well - this and the movie are being done by community members who felt the need -- We are all very grateful.
The Text and Pictures will work for installing CEP -- If you are someone saying, I don't get it - what do I do to install this - how, where and so on - THIS IS FOR YOU!!!
Here it is - as of 01/12/2010 was up to date - it is of course not up to date anymore since some tileset features were updated last night. As i said before, what is up here will always be behind the latest - it is not posted in a timely manner and the upload procedure for large files is slow, so not something we do all the time.
This is the first release with a tophak called cep 2.3 but, at present that tophak is identical to the updater 2.2 tophak. CEP 2.3 tophak will, in time, change as 2.3 moves forward but the fact is, via updater, 2.2 and 2.3 as of this moment were identical - hak order identical, no differences.
There are some new doors and tilesets to come yet and a few other things but this is it for now and a big lot of IT, it is. Tilesets, 708 creatures, oodles of placeables, fixes, compiled models, redundancy reduction, faster loading, far less problems from crashes or lag, DMTS, and more more more.
THIS IS THE LATEST -- DOWNLOAD THIS ONE. 01/12/2010

This is the latest and greatest CEP version. If you are here to get the CEP THIS IS THE VERSION FOR YOU!!!
New Ridable creatures and clothing, some new placables including my bone walls, spire and arch, and some other odds and ends.
This is not the end - there will be updates with more materials as we get them done but this has been a long time in coming and the community needs this now.
Since the link to the old Vault is as dead as the Vault itself, and also seems that Rolovault has no files under: http://neverwintervault.org/rolovault/projects/nwn1/hakpaks/7849 (no snapshot was made - apparently), the best link to check details on CEP 2.3/2.4 might be this one:
http://web.archive.org/web/20130707011901/http://nwvault.ign.com/View.ph... (very good snapshot made by the Wayback Machine on 2013-07-07).
Are any of the files missing or outdated? I recall that this page was saved separately..
Sorry, I'm confused which attatchments do I download?
I actually recommend the newer version of CEP, v2.60.
I'm typing from my phone so hopefully you can find the link easily with a search for "CEP 2.60" ;-)
As for which files, never winter nights.info has a great page on installing both CEP and Project Q

FP!
Thanks!
Is there anything similar, but for NWN2?
Does anyone have the numbering for the clothing? There are loads of blank bits in the clothing that I would like to fill with something, and errors at the end of the clothing numbers for some options like the arms.
I 'd like to endorse this hak pack for my own module with a vote.
Since any "newer" version of CEP is illegal and not done of the CEP Team nor is it done by permission - This IS the only CEP. I am the CEP Team Leader - and I have NOT given permission for any tampering with the CEP since 2.4 release.
I cannot find the quote at the moment but - update (the unsanctioned updates) included removal of credits and phenotypes - but the bottom line is there is copyright violation. Should we ignore the illegal appropriation of materials and no longer properly credited? With the removal of the phenos, it is NOT backward comparable. Use of additional 2da areas could also break my world since i use custom content NOT in the CEP.
Again, I repeat - Barry_1066, Malishara, 420, Throbblefoot, and flamecrow - and at the time some consulting and additions by TheExcimer-500 - ARE the CEP Team, no one else.
TheExcimer-500 brought me on the CEP team when he wished to step out many years ago but he remained for occasional input and consulting - he had been the CEP Team Leader prior to myself. I did NOT appropriate the position nor actually seek it and it was a pain toward the last release (CEP 2.4) being attacked by Project Q, Community Tileset members and a few others as Project Q wanted to smash the CEP and replace it. I endured death threats and had to start leagal action to stop the conspiratorial attacks.
I have paid my dues for the CEP and am NOT about to relinquish it to anyone.
Whereas you chose to abandon it for years instead. Should the community have just abandoned it just to satisfy your pride?
TR
Is it inconceivable that you could work with TAD? The community wants releases, not squabbles. This version appears to have been put out in March 2011, almost 7 years ago. Were you planning to update it? (Not a sarcastic question - I'd honestly like to know if the community is now going to have to choose between this and the version TAD has released.)
I am sympathetic to Barry's attempts to protect his IP, but I also have to echo the last couple of comments here. The time to have objected to CEP 2.6, and to assert the original team's rights over the project, was three years ago -- when it was released.
Morevoer, let me remind everyone that this was right after the NWN community had just faced a holocaust in the implosion of the IGN Vault, and the rest of us were scrambling to preserve its content from being lost forever. The original CEP team has been MIA for over half a decade, and as far as I remember, was nowhere to be seen during that time. This at least raises the question of whether the current team may have been justified in treating it as abandoned content, and taken up its maintenance in good faith.
@Barry_1066 @Andarian please continue that discussion here:
