Hello, I'm new to modding and everything related to the Neverwinter 'verse.

NWN2 was on sale at Good-Old-Games last November and I grabbed it then and have lost a lot of sleep ever since... due to playing the games or learning about the Toolset. There are still so much about the toolset that confound me and drive me crazy, but at the moment small successes in trial-and-error still give me enough motivation to keep trying.

3D modeling and custom content creation are cool and all but I rather not fight that battle too. With some experiences in (non-professional) comics/animation, I'm focusing more on animating scenes through Conversation or scripting.

In short, willing to learn and help other beginners learn. :)

Hello Brushmen,

Late reply I know but there is much going on here under the surface.

Introduce yourself on the bioware social forums. Are you working in NWN2 or NWN1?

Hello hello!  I'm known around NWN as Manny Jabrielle.  Offline I'm a firefighter and troublemaker, online I'm mostly a player, part time assistant DM on the Aenea PW, and starting to really get into modding (been working on a module for shamefully long, but only over the last few months has it really started to take shape as I figure figured out wtf I've been doing in the toolset).

Hello everyone, I'm VeeTpl. Otherwise known as DokhtorVee.

Long-time NWN fan, pretty much since release and I always tried to enjoy the game in the many ways it offered - Persistent Worlds, modules (preferred the story-driven ones as opposed to dungeon crawls) and many more. But the Aurora Toolset was always my favourite part of the game and what still keeps NWN on my harddrive, despite the many computers I had in those 10 or so years.

Finally, I might be able to finish my module/setting within NWN - it went from many stages starting at it being a Persistent World, through single-player campaign and now being a DM-driven campaign. I hardly have any experience with modelling, scripting, texturing and so on - I am more of a world builder and general writer. I work on modules from an atmospheric perspective rather than technical.

Regarding which there are a few systems I was wanting to implement and hopefully, with the help of the community here - we'll all be able to flesh it out, polish and perhaps share as something useful for the community.

Sorry, didn't see your reply earlier.

I'm trying not to create more user accounts if at all possible. And having heard rumors about the atmosphere on the BioWare social network makes me more hesitant. Although I know the key modders hang out there because more of them are there.

Having seen so much custom haks/scripts for NWN I thought to give it a try, but at the moment the base NWN models are just... not good enough for me (and the player command UI was complicated- in other words, I wouldn't want to play a module I make in it). I'm sticking to NWN2 for now, until I give up due to bug overload. :P

Hey Brushmen,

I guess this is more of a relaxed coversation.

The Nwn2 board on the Bioware social is an amiable enough place, there's too few of us for friction.

Drop by you will be more than welcome :)

Hi everyone!  I'm a little late to the party here, but I've been around the NWN/NWN2 community since the beginning.

I started work on several projects in NWN, but never managed to finish anything.

I've managed to release two mini-modules for NWN2:  Humble Beginnings and Lowena .  If you have a spare half hour, check them out!  I've also released a few prefab areas on the old vault (username Jezla9).  In 2007 I spent time as a player/DM/builder for the PW Myth Drannor: Legends of the Dalelands, which since closed down.

Currently I'm working on a Campaign for NWN2 based on my experiences on the PW called Legends of the Dalelands.  It will feature several of the characters (my own and other players') from the PW, as well as plenty of Easter Egg references for those who may have played on it.  The story is based on a event I ran as a DM, with more complexity and development.

As far as skills go, my primary skills are in area design and writing.  I can script in a basic fashion, and creating custom content is far above my head.

In real life I live in Indianapolis, IN, USA with my lovely wife of 18 years, three kids and a cat.

Very glad to see that the old NWN vault is being preserved :-)

Have been trying to figure out how to submit my old projects here ~ but don't know the old vault id's ~ just kept the zips of my projects.

I'll figure it out eventually ~ hints are most welcome, though

Hello!  If your projects are modules, there's already something to make the transition easier in place.  If you see your project on the list then that means there's a backup copy on the ftp server, just click on (ftp) The folder's number name corresponds to the ID number it had on the old vault.  Additionally the old vault description page and images are there too to make reposting easier in case you only have the actual files.

Leigh Britt, if you know your account name from the old Vault or the name of your package, you can search the .xml file (other_data.xml) one directory up. Just download the file and view it in a text editor. Once found, you can pull the ID# from there.

Example:

<article type="contenttype" category="other" entryid="10">
        <title type="field">10</title>
        <field fieldname="Title">2nd Edition D&D P&P style character generator</field>
        <field fieldname="Author">Wandering Mage</field>

Once you have the ID#, you can enter its directory and download or migrate the content.

FP!

Hi everybody. I am Alleyslink.

I was very sad to see the IGN Vault down, but now I am pretty excited by this new page. I am grateful to everybody who is working so hard on it and devoting so much of their own resources to this great game. In appreciation of this monumental undertaking, I have decided to help in my own meager fashion. In order to assure that all the content available on this new Vault is quality, I have decided to update my own little submission to NWN1. Coming soon LoICS v4.0, compatible with 1.69 and the newest CEP (and a finally completed story arc).

Thank you Neverwinter Vault.

Hello all. I would call myself a long tme fan and NwN hobbyist. Good to see so many famous/infamous names on the list.

To my way of thinking the greatest game of all time, which we will  never see the likes of again. Too rob a line from the Bard.

Kaotiqua

Kaotiqua here, aka, Technodivinitas, Aka, FathomsDeep. Long-term devoted NWN1/2 player, almost as long-term creator of portraits, occasional voice-actor. Found my way to the new vault back when it was still mostly empty, but I'm still a little lost here, and trying to find my way around. Speaking of which, I've noticed some of the migrated content has been mistagged and/or mislabeled. Is there a specific place to post tag corrections? Would make it much easier to find classic content. (I just discovered Vordan's Hero Creator mod is listed as a hak pack, for example.)

Lady of the Cats

Started in 2004 when my son was playing NWN1, on a RP server called Rune where I first was introduced to the toolset and have been building ever since. I love being able to create areas especially Interior Decorating. I was so busy building/improving areas and learning the toolset that I didn't have time to learn anything else. Still can't script, but I know what they do. *grins*

Suna lost her battle to cancer at the end of October 2013 and she had passed Kinky Kingdom Kissmet on to me, which I am hoping will stay alive for the next 10 years. Kissmet holds a very special place in my heart because Suna had let me really learn a lot more about building and in the past year before her passing, she taught me all she can about maintaining the server and we became good friends, both in game and out of game.

Currently, we are working on a big upgrade, in which we'll be using Project Q haks. This has been teaching me a lot about haks and 2das. But, I'm a Virgo and that means that I'm meticulous in working on this module with trying to make things logical as well as get them to work properly! I'm lucky to have a few builders who are patient with me.

I also like coming up with fun things on Kissmet. My son has also helped us with a few scripts, like our Fishing and the Wizard Tricks. I'd like to submit those to the new Vault sometime soon in the future. I like shopping, therefore Kissmet has been the best server with all these shops with all sorts of goodies submitted by various builders. Also, easy leveling up and creatures that are unique so a bit of fun. We're not a "hardcore" server.

Players - not enough can be said about the people I have met through the years on various servers who have touched my life in one way or another. Who have become good friends through the years. Some who have disappeared and in which I will forever remember. I am hoping to make more friends on NWN1 and thanks go to all those who are working hard on the New Vault as well as various projects and modules that might otherwise be lost.

Was Sune on the AME as Spidercat? If so we all missed her very much too. it is good that she has a legacy in the community.

We lost Spidercat a while before this (in early 2012). Her passing was a real loss to the community.

PLUSH HYENA of DOOM

Alright, if you really must have something (not at all) new and (not particularly) shiny, then, to announce - fashionably late - the fact that I was here millions of years ago and will soon be going to have been here again some more...

I, that is to say we - if I'm as schizophrenic as some individuals, one or more of whom might actually be me, suggest - am/are PLUSH HYENA of DOOM and am/are mostly interested in hitting things with Big Bricks.

There's little point in an introduction having been in the Community more years than I like to count and everyone already knows I build hideous Spleen Monsters and Hindu Temples and all that sort of stuff and am completly, utterly, rabidly insane. And know a singularly large number of voluptuous ladies with horns.

I constitute the Official NWN 1 Lunatic Fringe - and so probably need to cut my hair more often. Fur. Whatever.

I'm liable to be quietly sporadic in my presence for the time being due to my current service to the Great Old Ones...

Kaldor Silverwand

Not really sure how to follow the last few postings, but anyway....

I'm Kaldor Silverwand and have been a member here for a while but never thought of posting in this thread.  I started simple modding of games back with the BG series years back and continued up through IWD2 and then switched over to NWN2.  I have small ambition as a modder but have been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time with the right skills and the right amount of prodding to produce a few things of use for NWN2. My most well-received offering is the OC Makeover SoZ Edition. I also have a "Silverwand Sample Campaign" (kind of a self-contained mini-campaign intentionally simple so that new modders can dissect it), and a campaign I released based on the original D&D King's Festival and Queen's Harvest game modules.  My overly ambitious Gems of Power campaign remains mostly in my mind.

I frequented the old Bioware forums and then the Bioware social forums.

I have a blog at bbellina.blogspot.com and have links to everything I have developed there, including some things that are not here or at the Nexus.

Glad to be here.

Regards

I've played NWN1 since it came out, both offline and on some RP-oriented PW servers. I have sporadic bouts of creative urges to build something in the toolset, but I have so far never managed to finish anything. Maybe some day I will, in which case I will upload it here.
