Gamasutra Legacy Gaming Article

This was originally posted over on the Bioboards by Gruftlord, and due to the content of the article, reposting it here.

The Gamasutra article (blog), goes on to discuss the legacy games and their associated websites that are no more. Some gamers and fans of their associated gaming community, are left with whatever they grabbed themselves, while others like the NWN Community, worked to preserve what they had before it too, was gone.

The Vault, Rolo and other communities facing the same fate as the NWN Community faced with IGN and the old Vault, are mentioned in detail.

A great read!

Agreed. It's you guys mantaining the Vault and NWN alive who should be commended. This is a long hsitory of creative work, of sharing and experiencing through a gaming platform, and you guys keep it alive. Your effort never goes unnoticed, as is the same for every single work creators shared since 2001 (except for that mod that was atrocious, the one with that thing that wasn't even a thing, and it was so bad, and... you know which one I am talking about!). This is inspiring, and it brought a tear to my eye.

Psst, there was a series of such modules.. I think there is still one here: "The Princess Who Fought for Sex". I have yet to play it to determine the degree of atrocity XD
