Centering the screen

Hello all, is there an easy way to center the camera in exploration mode? I am playing at higher resolution than I used to and it seems an effect of this is that the centering is quite off. When I zoom in to look at a character, they vanish beneath me and I find I have to be zoomed out quite far to see the whole character and still pretty far to see only the head.

I have noticed some modules have adjusted centering specific to them so I am not sure if an overall fix is possible or if I would need to modify each module/campaign individually but since I see it getting adjusted I am hoping there is an easy method of doing so.

Thanks in advance,

Quixal

kevL's

the point that the Exploration camera focuses into is controlled in Appearance.2da, column "HEIGHT"

so it's based on the appearance-type (or the race, roughly) of the creature you're controlling. Personally I like mine a bit high so that when i zoom in the controlled-creature doesn't block my view (am looking over its head). So i think I added ~0.4 to each playable-appearance type's HEIGHT value.

ie, Copy Appearance.2da to /Override and make the changes with a .2da editor (in the toolset or with a 3rd party app). Or better, find the latest Appearances package and use its .2da (see kamal's NWN2 Creature Compilation Pack)

find the rows of the appearances/races you want to tweak ... (technically these really are appearances not races) etc

ofc any module/campaign that overrides Appearance.2da may override your tweaks. so override them right back again ;)
