Modules and building and custom content, oh my!

I've understood Hakpaks etc as a player for a long time (download the module, install the required Haks and go) I am however having trouble working out what I need to do re custom content if I am makinga module myself. Mostly around the 'What tdo I need to provide for players?' question.

For example. I have kamal's Treant reskins that I'd like to use. Gettin them into my module so that I can use them in the toolset is easy enough. My main questions I guess is this.

If i have custom content installed in either the module folder or the campaign folder will that mean that it is automatically found as resources for the Module when someone else goes to play it?

Or, will I need to take all of the custom content that I use and make it into a hakpak for players to download and install with my module?

Really struggling to get my head around how it works from this end, if somebody could clear it up for me I would appreciate it.

You can put custom content into a hakpak, or you can put it in your campaign/module files, there really isn't a difference  (I think there were a couple rare exceptions where a few specific 2das had to be in haks). Either one works because the players will download any haks and campaign/module folders.

My Path of Evil Remastered campaign puts everything into the campaign folders for instance, except for a hak that I include just as a way to patch things on the fly for people. That hak is empty except for a single file since you have to have at least one file in a hak. For Bedine I did the same thing.

Those treant reskins can be stored in the campaign or hak for instance (and don't forget you can include only the ones you want to use).
