Crashes when trying to select a character

So, I first noticed this issue when trying to test run my module.

-I thought the character I was using had somehow been corrupted, so I erased it.

-Next I tried running the module in game from the menus. I can create a character fine. What I cannot do is select a pre existing character. This happens in all my module except for one. Bedine.

-So I've deduced that this has something to do with the TLK files.

-I tried isolating the files and reverting back to my backup.

It's not working. The only thing I can think is that maybe I got the TLK files swapped around and I'm using the same TLK and I have somehow erased the original TLK.

Or maybe I'm way off and should ask if anyone else is running into this problem.

You need to revert to the original tlk, Bedine has a replacement tlk which you had to use. I mentioned it in the campaign description that people need to back up their tlk, so hopefully you did. You could just download kaedrin's pack and use his tlk if you didn't.

I'll check out Kaedrins pack then.

I made a backup but I'm thinking that I should have had a better plan than renaming the backup "1dialog.TLK" and then back again while naming the replacement "0dialog.TLK" when I wanted to use the old TLK.

I never was good at the game where the guy puts a ball under 1 of 3 cups and then moves them around quickly and asks you to pick the correct cup. Thats what this felt like except there were only two cups in this game and I managed to somehow take the cup containing the ball off the table while duplicating the other cup and ... whatev.

But thanks for the Kaedrin tip

UPDATE:

Turns out I had the correct dialog.TLK file. However, I still think the problem I was having was .TLK related.

So I deleted the characters in my localvault file that I created using the Bedine module. Which is fine because I have the characters I like in a saved game.

That fixed the issue.

So I can pull up saved games with these characters just fine if I have the correct TLK operating but something about having them in the select character menu crashes the game. My thoughts are that it has to do with something in the characters description. I had a human (regular) scout, a fey (shadowy) rogue, and a half orc fighter.

Hmm, FWIW I was able to load a Bedine PC into another module after restoring my oem .tlk file. The only thing missing was the character's name which I had to use tlkedit2 to correct. After that it appeared to work normally but I didn't try actual game play with it.
