Player-created parties

Just got this game from GoG. I see there are many modules in which the player may create parties of up to 6 characters. This is my preferred mode of gaming, so I wondered which mods were available that permit creation of multiple characters. I attempted to use the multichar mod for the OC, but for whatever reason it is not working as it should (no option on Player Menu for party creation, no extra items in chest, etc...) This may be a function of my own ineptitude or a peculiarity of the GoG version.

Any constructive comments would be appreciated.

Storm of Zehir (2nd expansion campaign) allows party creation. Right now i'm doing a playthrough with a group of 4 characters that I rolled up myself.

It's a big sandbox with a simple story-arc: get fabulously wealthy. Starts at level 4, goes to about 20. Can be played regardless of the OC + MotB.

Setting up your system so that created characters may work in any module is more complicated, would require a more technical thread w/ details in say the Toolset forum .... (a thread there would also signal others that you're willing to do some keyboard thrashing ..)

Just to be clear, did you check the main listing in this section for modules built using SoZ resources?

 https://neverwintervault.org/forums/neverwinter-nights-2/nwn2-modules/al...

While they are mostly single player, some do include party creation. Unfortunately this list isn't hot linked but at least you will have a starting point for your search.

I'm currently playing Wulverheim which is another big sand-box campaign and it does use the SoZ party creation system. In this case, I'm reusing the team I had at the end of SoZ last month plus one henchman.

As an alternative, check out Clangaddin's Rebuild, featured this week as part of new content. It allows you to alter companions in-game within certain limits. This even applies to pre-made companions inserted by the creator if you so desire.

Hope that helps.

The OC Makeover allows party creation. If that is the mod you are referring to as "multichar mod for the OC" then it is compatible with the GOG version of NWN2. You should doublecheck the installation instructions.
