Fixed Ghazi, tag issue with the door in the basement as I had to rebuild that area for the remaster. In the Ruined Temple, I get a visible tileset (it uses Shadow Fortress), but I am still getting the glowing red texture issue even with my fixed version of that tileset. I may need to place all the tiles again to make sure they use the updated models.

The Ruined Temple is still broken, even after installing your new files.  Also, the Ekkathys Mines seems to be broken, as the game crashes when I attempt to enter the mines, which is twice now.  

On a smaller note, Devil's Backbone works quite well.  The door to the dungeon is missing, as well as the exit door form the dungeon.  At the first intersection, there is a floating square with a "?" in it.  Seems something is missing.  The skeletons in the walk way sometimes choke up the walk path of the heroes villains.  The first phase spider, and the ogre mages at the artifact are difficult to engage, leading to messages "target cannot be reached".

Found no issues in Fountains by Highcliff, Pros Graveyard, or the Fallen Tower.

In the Akanapeaks trails

1. The bloodfist tribe journal entry does not advance/change when you defeat the tribe.

2. Is the cave entrance guarded by glaistig Mindbenders accessible.  Currently, there is no transition at this cave.

In Akanapeaks

1. The undead crypt (Orcus' thralls?) crashes the game upon entering.

2. No bridge between the undead crypt and the demon crypt, but you can still run accross the empty chasm.

3. No issues with the Damon crypt.

4. No issues inside the Carthon's crypt, however I do not have him in my party.

The tomb of the Tortured King has a few bugs.  The first large room, the left & right doors cannot be passed through.  If you spin the camera around, there is wall where the doors should be.  At the end of the room, there is a navigation point, but it is floating above the walls.  It is accessible though.  The stairs down has not transition point.

In the al-Agran Waaha Desert, the center right cave transition point does not work properly.

The following locations had no issues that I could find:

  • Earth Spur Mountains
  • Mt. Thulbane
  • Coastal Cave System
  • Remote House (Viper's House)
  • Mountain Caves (fire elementals)
  • High Forest
  • NW Faerun caves (Bandit hideout)
  • Waldheim

 

Finally, the Intisar & Pros crown pieces did not generate a journal entry when acquired.  Is this normal?

Fixed and tested fixes of all reported issues in the stronghold module (including the Akanapeaks). Fixed an issue with the tileset project 2das that was affecting Path of Evil as well (standard mines has no default textures assigned in the stock game 2das, so it couldn't be retextured).

 

Edit: fixed all reported issues and tidied up folders, removing nearly 2 gig of duplicate files and arranging things better.

Just started POE about a week ago.  WOW!  Hats off to Kamal!  This is a great campaign!  I am really enjoying it, despite NEVER having played an evil character in NWN2 before.  In fact, I saw it in the new vault and passed over it initially because of the evil aspect but then saw some really positive buzz so I thought I'd give it a shot and I have not been disappointed.

So far I have explored Murann, Al-Qasr, and nearly done with Calimport Muzad.  Also ran through the spider swamp, but it was super easy with current party.

Took the leadership feat and have PC (Sorcerer/Red Dragon), Kvas, Tan, Mu'tasin, Carcarin, and Teotim (spelling?) that annoying halfling wizard.

Have not found the pure fighter companion, but Mu'tasin is a brawler so not really needed at this point.

Thinking about dismissing Teotim Connor as my party is arcane heavy and the game may be more challenging with only a 5 member party, but I was going to ask the community here:

Carcarin vs. Teotim?  Who would you rather have?  I'm leaning toward Carcarin, plus I haven't done the treasure map quest with her yet.  Need to return to Al-Qasr to do that.

Laisera vs. Mu'tasin?  Who is better/more useful?  I think I have the answer as Mu'tasin seems to have subplots and is a capable melee brawler.  I have not allowed Laisera to join, so don't know what she has to offer.

I passed over the female rougue in Murann as Kvas is my childhood friend and one rougue is enough for my play style.

EDIT:  I remember that I did encounter one bug.  When going to watch Hemlock fight the rival Wizard back in Neverwinter, nothing happens.  They don't fight in front of me.  They just stand there.  When I approach Hemlock and speak to him he says "I hope you learned something.  Meet me back at my shop." but nothing has occurred.  I went back a second time after some further tasks in Neverwinter and it still wouldn't fire.

Great work Kamal. This is getting to be the best campaign out there. So, is it finally done yet? I started playing the old version ages ago and set it aside due to the stronghold bugs and lack of time on my part.

Next, if you're still working on it... Here's an idea for the stronghold and dealing with the question of "Why would the companions stick around?" EMPLOY THEM! Several of the companions would make fantastic (or humerous) Captains! The fighter is an obvious one, though several others could work like the elven rogue and the Tortured King. Further, Timotillo (sp?) could be given a tower or such for his own experiments, making a few bone golems or other powerful undead to toss around. They could also get a few special missions depending on who is picked. Laisara (the cleric of murder? I probably mispelled her name.) could also set up a small shrine/temple... not that many locals would appreciate that, but it could be in the castle it's self.

So, captains? Please?

I'm just waiting to hear someones played through the remake to completion before making it a public release. I am not working on it now, I currently have very little time available, about an hour a week or so.

Alright, thanks for the fast response. I made this account because of your campaign Kamal! I can wait a bit longer I suppose... I'll probably be snowed in when you finally release and will be happy to play through it.

I started a playthrough last night and came across a showstopper on the thief path.

Neverwinter: Skirmish does not update. In the missiong where you go to the warehouse to support thieves working against Tsadavi, a trigger is broken, I think. When I enter and walk a bit down the hall my character gives the audio you usually get when discovering a secret door but nothing else happens. I am guessing there is supposed to be a trigger that updates the journal that all the thieves are already dead when you arrived.

Without it, I can go through the warehouse killing everyone but I can't proceed since my mission is incomplete. I had hoped I could work around it by then going to the gang hideout and killing Tsadavi herself but that doesn't work either.

set the journal "gang_skirmish" to 11. That will mark it as ready to be turned in to Tsadevi.

I fear my NWN2 foo is insuficient. I don't know how to modify journal status do we have a handy guide for such lying around here? Feels like something I should learn if I am to make myself useful as a playtester or, heaven forbid, actually try to build something.

There are ga_* scripts that can be run from the console for a lot of stuff. thought i'd mention it ... I think "ga" means "general action" script. Or perhaps "global action" idk. But to see a list of filenames open toolset, File->Open Script or Conversation ... then filter the list w/ ga_

I will play around with that. My long absense resulted in me forgetting so much regarding the nuts and bolts of the game and there was a lot I guess I never knew. I will need to improve my console foo.

As to Path of Evil, no new bugs or problems so far. I will try to do a pretty thorough play through and hit even the far-flung map locations to see if I can find any bugs.

The middle cave on the east side of the map in Al-Aqran Waaha does not seem to function. Instead of an area transition, the party vanishes. Given that most of these caves are largely empty, this is probably not a big deal but I felt it worth reporting. I will just skip the cave on this playthrough.

Edit: Also, the overland map leads directly to the lower levels of the mines rather than Akathys proper.

Edit again: This one is a showstopper. When you try to have the blacksmith forge the three thin keys onto the fortress key, he takes the thin keys but gives nothing back.

Edit yet again: I cannot enter the Agarar Summoning Circle area. It says I need to have someone in the party that knows the way. I have Carcerin with her quest active in the party. Not sure if this is a bug or if I need some other character too.

Try these in your override. You'll need to create the key via console. The tag is ek_key. 

Somehow the waypoint in Ekkathys got lost, I altered the script that transitions you to the module to point to another waypoint at the correct spot.

Checked the dialog for Carcain's sidequest location. Didn't see an issue. Changes the dialog anyway to check if the quest is at step 1 (that quest only has step 1 and 11) instead of not zero (how it was previously).

Checked the desert care in al-Qasr. Didn't see any issues but rebaked the cave in case there were issues in the cave.
