Scripts

Any chance it'd be possible to get an archive of the scripts used for the spells in the NWN2 game?

For reference -- I'm asking because I'm going to see to what degree they can be recycled for non-NWN2 purposes, and I don't have the game myself.

Mmm, that seems ethically shady and in violation of the EULA.

Since nwn2 inherited most all of the scripts from nwn1, you could get the nwn1 scripts. As a PW head you must have nwn1 installed.

Hm. You make a point -- wasn't terribly certain of how redistribution rules worked for that, alas, given the games share a developer.

As far as the 'shared scripts' point -- 'sarcasm detected' aside, I had my eyes on some of the invocations NWN2 has that NWN1 didn't; if only to save a bit of implementation time by not having to test if they worked. I 'may' be able to make some similar code on my own, though, given the stigma on redistributing it.

As far as I can tell, there has been no sarcasm emission in this thread.

Either way, just figured I'd try asking! It's all good -- I've got a lot to shove into the 2das as it is.

AFAIK a lot of NWN1 functions were depreciated and many new functions were added for NWN2 that don't exist in NWN1.

Maybe some of the scripts would work.. but a fair amount wouldn't.. Especially because of how VFX's are handled in NWN2 compared to NWN1..

while generally true, the only thing isee that changed in spellscripts is the vFX (y, all of them)

also, new spells added and a few disabled

Theoretically a few of the functions would either have equivalents or be outright implemented by accessible, and thus transferrable, includes.

Though, yes, as someone mentioned; the spell includes and functions are literally almost 100% identical from what I'm understanding.
