Baatezu and Tanar'ri for NWN2?

Does anyone know of someone who has exported NWN1 Baatezu and Tanar'ri to NWN2? I've found Vrocks (Purgatorio), but would like to see Abishai, Cornugons, Glabrezu, Mariliths etc...
Ya know, like this. :-)

OK, let's put it another way: is there someone with the skills, patience and tools that are willing to do this for me (and the rest of the community)? I was thinking of the Abishai models here: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/prefab/creature/hellbound-abishai

As an alternative, the ones I myself redid for NWN1 about 1000 years ago :-)

Perhaps ask in the Custom Content area. https://neverwintervault.org/forums/neverwinter-nights-2/nwn2-custom-con...

Someone will either know the anwswer or have the skills though most seem pretty busy with their own projects ATM.

No promises, but I'll have a look at these models and see how the look in NWN2. If they're fine enough, or don't need too much mesh/texture work, I might volunteer.

I took a quick peek at a few of the models. Some of the textures may be misnamed; c_Abishai_Body_B.tga should be c_Abishai_Body_Blue.tga, c_Abishai_blue_W.tga is actually c_Abishai_blue_Wing.tga, &c. For NWN models they're fairly decent looking though, at least to me.

Apart from the dds files which I can't open, I got the mdl models.

I haven't started the port to NWN2 yet though, I first need to put all the diffuse textures in a single file, create the corresponding normal textures, and more importantly have all the various parts welded together into a single mesh.

The models look rather good in 3ds max, but I won't know how many will be good enought for NWN2 before I transformed them into mdb.

I think each one of those .dds files has the equivalent .tga file. Not sure why it was released that way.

True, except for the nightmare. The mesh looks like a horse, with light emitters at the mane and tail. Is it supposed to be some kind of burning undead horse? In that case, all that needs to be done is to use the "Horse, skeletal" model from NWN2 (not sure if that's how it's called in the English version) and add the fx_balor_fire_aura visual effect.

I also believe the NWN Cornugon matches with the NWN2 horned devil (again, not sure if that's the English name), which should do for the Baatezu, and the Tanar'ri already exist with Zaxis and Hezrou.

Well... yes, but we need/want more. :-) The Abishai are quite essential at least.
Actually could use the NWN2 gargoyles for those... if they were fully tintable.

Have you seen my gargoyle reskins? A white skined base reskin for a gargoyle is easy peasy with mdb cloner, no 2da editing sould be required.

I'm still hoping that I can get the help I requested. I've looked a bit at the reskinned Gargoyles, and while they are decent, the Planescape Torment-inspired Abishai from NWN1 in my opinion look more like the "real thing", if such words could be used when describing fantasy devils, heh heh. ;-)

Well, I'm gonna work on the Abishai and the others just after I finish the Aaracockra and Kenku. I'll even do it before the green slaad (walking, running and dying animations still in progress) and the octopus.

Complete Wish list :-)

Devils:
Abishai
Kocrachon (CODI I think)
Manes (CODI I think)

Demons:
Glabrezu (CODI I think)
Marilith from the Q haks (CODI?)

A port of any of these from NWN1 to NWN2 is appreciated, but if I can have more than one, the Manes, Kocrachon and Glabrezu (in that order) in addition to the Abishai would be simply awesome!

Glabrezu and Marilith I have (same package as the Abishai).

Will see later for the Kocrachon and Manes.

The marilith is basically the SoZ boss, just with a human upper and two extra arms. I dont remember his extra set of arms actually moving, so it might not be impossible to just use it's animations.

Don't misconstrue this as nagging. :-)
Can you give me an update on the progress - if you have been able to start working on these, that is?

Started working on these, well, not really. But I already imported the animations in 3ds max. I now need to create the mesh, and export model and animations into the gr2 format used by NWN2.

I'm finishing the Kenku and Aarakocra creatures at the moment (which takes longer than anticipated because of the wings). I'll come back with more news soon.

Edit:

Kenku and Aaracokra animations and models now fully converted. I have to prepare the blueprints and they'll be good for release. I'll work on the Abishai and others just after that.

I started converting the Abishai for use on NWN2, and most of the other models render well, but unfortunately there's something wrong with the animations. The critter is shaking on about half of them, like it's losing balance on an icy floor. It's gonna take time to fix this...

Anyway, here are some screenshots:

Yep, I made them tintable.

Looks great! Hope you are able to fix the problems then, you'll just have to take what time you need. :-)

Fixing all the animations for these critters really takes a long time, so I decided to finish the green slaad first.

Yep, I know. We're quite busy at work at the moment, so I didn't have time to work on NWN2. If everything works as expected, I should be able to come back to this project next month.

Still work in progress. Although I have to admit I didn't have much time lately to work on it.

The Abishai and Cornugon are now complete. I'll probably do the Gelugon, Minotaure and Hamatula next (I guess I could use the same skeleton for these critters).

These look pretty cool, I look forward to having them in NWN2 as well. I think the only DnD game that had Abishai so far was Icewind Dale 2, but I could be wrong.

In theory at least, it should now be possible to use Blender with nwn2fbx and Neverblender to port NWN1 models to NWN2. I'm still trying to get a handle on that though. It's possible to generate a skeleton from the NWN model. The problem I've encountered is in trying to transfer the animations from the meshes to the bones. It seems like it should be feasible using the dope sheet panel. I just can't get it to work yet.
