Installation - Order, Complete, Functioning, Combatibility

I've played my way through Baldur's Gate I & II, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment.  Now I'm moving onto Neverwinter Nights. :D

In those Infinity Engine games installation order was an important factor in getting things working.  From what I've read about 'haks' going in the 'haks' folder and 'mods' in the 'modules' folder this should be pretty simple.  However from my prior experience (and life in general) things are never as easy as they are supposed to be so I don't believe it will all work.  The base 'Diamond' plus any of these seems to work (or at least boot up) but beyond that I've not tried installing them all as the order options are huge.

So this is what I have gotten/found.   I would like it all installed and ready to use, however it is supposed to be used:

  • Codi Custom Content Helper (CCH)
  • Player Resource Consortium (PRC)
  • Community Expansion Project (CEP)
  • NWN English 1.69 HotU Update
  • Darkness Over Daggerford
  • Infinite Dungeons
  • Kingmaker
  • Shadow Guard
  • Witch's Wake
  • PRC Module Update (Are there any other Update Programs?) Specifically OC Fix.

Also I think I read somewhere there is a pack for updating effects files, something like that too?!?

Muchly appreciate an answer on what order to install and how to install these.  Thanks.

.hak and .mod usually don't conflict each other :)

Unless you happen upon 2 .haks/mods with the same name then obviously they will overwrite.

It is advised to run critical rebuild 1.69 patch prior to anything.

PRC introduces new classes, like 100 of them, but is unfortunatley not very balances and tends to break any module it updates.

CEP has two parts (1.x and 2.61) remember that!

Try to keep your override folder clean(improper use can cause problems, proper use can be very rewarding) ;)

Apologies for the self-advertising, but you may find the NWN Mod Installer Tool useful for installing and removing mods safely.

As long as it is useful and relevant I don't mind it.  Seem to be in both cases, good call.
