Obtaining string/int input from player/DM during a conversation

Hi, I'm trying to get string input from a player/DM via a conversation. I need whatever int/string they're typing so that it can be saved and used for something else. If this is too vague I can elaborate, but this is mostly where I need help.

To capture input that the player enters in the chat window, all you need is a script in the module properties for the OnPlayerChat event.

See sample script in that link.

In my experience, some players are unfamiliar with using the chat window for this purpose, so, at risk of breaking immersion, when conversation requires text input, I add an explanatory highlight. For example:

GUARD : What's the password? [Enter the password in the chat window]
