I would love to create something more like this

I'm going for a more medieval look, the standard tilesets just don't look medieval to me.

I just Deleted all the files off of my computer for the NWNR_CE.hak because I kept getting old files mixed up with the new ones. Long story short I wiped them all so that this shouldn't happen any more.

That has been most of the problems with this hak. I just had old and new copies of files all over my computer.

Been saying all this time Skyrim is the best example of what could be done in NWN1. While The Witcher games have some ports, the style is more... abundant in details and adornments, more in tune with a later period. The northerner aesthetics of TES5 are rough, savage, and therefore, less resource intensive.

Right I love the work in the Witcher, however for what I want NWN to look like the Wichter feels more modern looking (to me) then what I'm wanting. I'm wnating a more older/fantasy/medieval/old school D&D/Skyrim look. I't may not be the way things where hear on each for the time period. However this is a fantasy game set in a fantasy world. So as long as I'm happy that is the main point here cheeky

I very much disagree with your assumption that old school D&D and Skyrim look are something similar let alone identical.

Well I feel a lot of the pictures in my old 2nd Edition AD&D books look closer to Skyrim then they do with the Witcher.

I was playing around to see what kind of changes I could make to the Standard City Buildings and here is the first thing I came up with.

All the woodwork in that screenshot are different objects from the plaster walls. There was alot of custom work that went into creating that building. However the main key point is that the walkmesh it 100% the same. wink

Here is a screenshot so you can see the wood beams sticking out from the plaster and from under the upper story as well.

The most challaging thing about this kind of override revamp is trying to come up with ideas on how to make nice looking models that look the way you want them to. Yet at the same time creating them in a way so you don't scew up the walkmesh.

I have already been trying to think of a way to cut out/replace the two large corner posts withe something that would look better.

I may change them out for a barrel and a crate, hmmm we will see.

That's exactly how overrides should be made. They're meant to add while being compatible. Zwerk, Pstemarie and Project Q have threaded such path, with overriding or equivalent tiles that are far more developed than the original or the original they are based on. I think you're going in the right direction. Medieval City/Rural and Wildlands have plenty of examples.

I really like the idea of wooden docks for my medieval city.

Thanks " Draygoth"

I have to say that I'm overly pleased at how well this hak is turning out. Not only that it's really starting to look more like a Fantasy Medieval City, but even more so that this hak overrides the Old Standard City Tileset. I for one can't wait to use it when playing older modules and servers that uses the Standard Tilesets.

I was also thinking of changing the City Stream up some as well.

In the screenshot below you can see where I have changed the ground going down to the water into a sloping bank of dirt. I was thinking of may be adding some grass, rocks, trees, plants, and/or wantever to the bank. I would like to change the stream bed texture to river rock as well.

I'm just not a fan of everything in the whole city being created in stone.

Nothing in this screenshot is set in stone cheeky right now I'm just brainstorming.

Where those little square stones where is where I would look into putting trees, rocks, or whatever because that part of the walkmesh is not walkable.
