Are you talking about P, F, L, and S? The Tri-Kreen creature has L, however when you set it to L the game crashes at character selection. On the other hand if you set it to P then you can log in as the Tri-Kreen but there is not animations and it just slides across the ground.

How many placeables are we talking? What kind of timeline as it may not get completed till after the holidays?

I can give it a shot, its been quite awhile since I've done anything with NWN but could be good practice to get back into modding occasionally.

Things I would need is a current copy of the tileset and the placeable that need to be converted to tiles. I can make no promises but I can give it a shot.

That would be great " Cervantes " if you have the time and are willing to try and convert them for us. We don't need them anytime real soon, in fact if you have a lot going on and couldn't even start working on them till after the holidays that would be fine. Even though Dizzitt and I have been putting in over 40 hours a week into this project we still consider it to be something we are working on in our free time. However its eating up all of our free time and some of our sleep time as well. However we do not expect others to put in that kind of time. This is a game and not real life so just whatever time you have would be great.

If you could PM me an email I could set you up with what you would need.

Weekly Highlight

I would like to thank Draygoth for make another mount for Dark Sun.

First here is a picture of some Dark Sun Mounts. In the picture you can see the two smaller crodlu riding mounts.

Now Here is the Mounts Draygoth made for our project.

Thanks Dratgoth for all the time and hard work you are putting into this project.

I know this Weekly Highlight is a day early but I just wanted to get it out with the holidays and all coming up.

Oh and there are more mounts on the way :)

Weekly Highlight #13

Here are a few more textures I made for our project.

The art work is Broms all I did was recreate his art work to look like paintings on a stone wall. I wanted them to blend more with my NWN1 textures and to look as if they truly belonged in the game.

Each of these textures has taken me hours per one in order to recreate them to look the way that they do. My guess is that most people wouldn't want to put this kind of time into a few textures. If people only new how many hours I have wrapped up in all these painting textures that I have recreated they would probably think I was crazy.  However I think it will help our project feel more like Dark Sun. After all if you put all kinds of time and work into an RPG project but you fail to capture the feel then what is the point?

The following stone wall paint of a human gladiator is over twice as tall as a human in game and look just as clear in game as it does here.

This stone painting remake was the 3rd one that I did so I was still learning and it took me about 2 to 3 hours to remake.

I'm not going to say how many hours the following remake stone paintng from the Dragon Kings book cover took me.  :)

However this following Dragon painting is over 4 to 5 times taller then a human in game and man does it look good in game.

I really like your textures, and the models are pretty good too. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, you're making some really neat stuff.

If you find yourself still looking for textures, here's the first place I'd check. you can get some really good stuff on google if you search with the right keywords.

https://www.google.ca/search?tbs=ift:png&tbm=isch&q=seamless+texture

Add keywords for whatever kind of thing you're looking for after you load that.

Hi ,
Perhaps some of you, have been wondering what i have been done all of this time. Well I have been working in a project requested by Tonden Ockay. And that is trying to bring life to a dragonking creature.

To be honest when Tonden asked for that I felt a little worried at first; Because even then i understood that something like that would required a lot of work with animations, which its something in what I'm not an expert. Even when I only had to animate the dragon neck, head, jaw, and tail it have required a lot of time.

Anyway here are the results:

I have included some animations from the lycantropes of "project Q"; I relly like their unarmed animations for the dragonking.

https://youtu.be/D9rgdd5S49g

Notice that I have replaced the standard pray animations, whit "Zen-style" meditation ones. Athas is a world without gods so the dragonkings have any need to pray....

https://youtu.be/WMKgt1O02Q0

OK, I still have to make a full working creature which could use this animations, but this is a great step forward in order to get it.

PS- Tonden Ockay thanks for your patience, and have a little more...

Very nice work Shemsu-Heru, i can't wait to see your finished work on the Dragonking creature. I want to thank you for your time that you have put in our project over the past few months. We have come along way with custom races and clases, Tonden has been hard at work making some really awesome stuff that will be highlighted in the coming weeks, so with some of the custom creatures you and Draygoth have been making has help bring the world of Dark Sun closer to NWN.

I love the work you are doing " Shemsu-Heru ". I can really tell that you have not only been putting in lots of time with these animations, but have also gave them a lot of thought to get them to fit well for a Dragon King creature and the world of Athas (Dark Sun).

Thanks a lot for all the work and time your pouring into this project. I'm with Dizzitt Gardan, I can't wait to see it once you have it done and in the game.

As for time well we don't need the creature right now so take whatever time you need.

Very nice. Who is going to get stuck making all the modifications to the clothing to fit that pheno? Or tileset doorways? Even large pheno creatures cannot pass through them. There are mounts to consider as well, unless Half-Giants will receive a movement bonus due to having much longer legs than a normal sized human.

Just some things to think about.

Thanks for the questions " Fester Pot "

Clothing/Armor - Dizzitt has already made all the changes to all the standard ones, so we will just need to make changes to any custom sets we use.

Tileset Doorways - They are just as tall as the top of the doors, so they can go through all the doors with no problem at all..

Mounts - Half-Giants didn't ride mounts in Dark Sun, however they did have a faster base movement speed.

We are on top of it :)

Thanks again for the questions.

Suggestions of clothing/armor MODs:

Dragon Scale armor by The Amethyst Dragon, from "Custom Content Challenge May 2013: Dragon Stuff", Could be useful for DS (just assume that the scales come from another Athasian creature).

https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/model/custom-content-challenge...

My "wereable animal furs" could be interesting for DS, specially for warriors of the Draj city-state:

https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/wearabl...

Maybe some elements of my "Shemsu-Heru's Egyptian Armory" could be usefull for DS too. Like the Egyptian leather armor and some headdress:

https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/shemsu-...

The Mesopotamian mask-helmets, could be especially useful for Urick dwellers:

I thought that I would post some screenshots of the Grand City Walls that I'm currently working on. From the pictures below you can see that the walls are as tall as the rural ground being raised 3 times, so they are very tall. Also you should be able to see that the walls can be placed right a long the cliffs of the raised ground this way we can have stone walls with raised ground on one side while having lower ground on the other side. The last pictures shows the walls being place along flat desert ground and also has one of the city gates in the picture as well.

This tileset is still being worked on and has a long way to go, but its really starting to look nice. So I just thought I would share some of it with your all for this weeks weekly highlight.

* Again this is still a work in progress so the models still need some finishing work and some of the textures may still change.

OK, here is finally a full game-working dragon-king creatures. Sorry for the delay I had been busy lately, and this has been a very elaborate project. It's around 12 ft tall, for a dragon between 24 and 25 level. I have made two versions of the creature. One with some clothing pieces and jewelry, which would be good for the ruler of a city-state; And other naked which is good for a wild dragon afectted by the "mad-rage" during their "animalistic period" of the dragon metamorphosis....

The creatures admit NWN dynamic wings. I have thought that would be useful for showing a more advanced stage in the dragon metamorphosis. Well to be accurate the creature also should be bigger and have diferrent shape. But that would mean a lot more work again and I'm not eager to do that soon.

I was just looking over the forums and all the posts that we have made about this project that we are working on. It has been 7 months so far and we have released over 25 weekly highlights so far. I have and I'm still enjoying working on this project. I enjoy it so much so that I don't play or have anything to do with any other game. That said I have learnt a lot along the way and I'm still learning. However the more I learn the more exciting it becomes making/working on custom content.

I just wanted to let everyone know that it is April and it's starting to warm up here, so I will have less free time to work on NWN/ this project until fall. I will still work on it when I can, but the line of work that I do really ramps up during the warmer months. Plus it stays lighter longer allowing me to work longer hours, in return giving me less free time to work on the game.

The point that I'm getting at is that I may not be able to keep up on the weekly highlights, so if it feels like I'm dropping the ball or not putting the time into the project any more that isn't the case. I will still put any free time I get into the project it just wont be any where near the kind of time I have during the winter months. My love for this game is through the roof and as I get more time in the fall I will began putting in the long hours once again.

Well I just wanted people to know and understand what will be going on through the late spring, summer and early fall months.

Thanks for your time.

I have a lot of plans and ideas to help this project to look like the Dark Sun paintings from the books.

We have also been working with some scripts/haks to help make the game feel more like an PnP RPG game. We feel this will help it feel more like the D&D Dark Sun game we all have grown to love over the years playing it around the table.

A 30 level avangion creature. The model have been made completely  by myself as well as the texture, but I have used oficial DS art for it. So be gentle....

It uses a modifiyed version of the flying animations from "Flying NPCs, Succubus, Erinyes, Vampires, and Kobolds" by "StoneMonkey". I also have added an script with provides a yellow glowing aura to the creature.

WoW Holy Crap

Now that is just amazing " Shemsu-Heru " you have just out done your self with this and the Dragon King, I'm speachless. Dark Sun was the number one world that I played over 90% of the time back in my D&D days and that sir is what an Avagion looks like.

Advagions and the Dragon Kings are two of the BIGest iconic creatures in Dark Sun and you have made them both my friend.

I was always more of a fan of Avagions (good guy) fan then Dragon Kings (evil), I'm just going to sit here and stare in awe.

Thanks again for all the time and hard work you have put into this.
