Crossers v.s. Features

 

Ok I have been working on some very large city walls. I have set them up as both crossers and as features, so that I could see how they would work as both.

All that said if I use them as features it would seem that I would need less tiles to do the same thing. So I got to thinking that wouldn't it be better to build the walls as features vs crossers? If I can get the same look with less tiles one would think that this would be the better way to go.

Is there something that makes it better on the engine or system to use them as crossers vs features?

Could someone shead some light on this for me?

The only thing I can think of would be that crossers repeat/reflect beyond the area and features don't.
