GUI scaling

Hello,

What do you think of the new scaling option in NWN EE ? It doesn't work for me... My screen is of the 1920 X 1200 kind, and I got only 2 choices. If i use choice 1 , the graphic interface is identical to v1.69 (too small). Choice 2 makes all game windows and texts much too big (may i say enormous !).

Can i dial something like 1.4 or 1.5 using some hiden config somewhere ?  If that was not possible, maybe we can suggest the idea as an improvement to Beamdog. Scaling mode 2 and 1920 X 1024 is probably no good too.

Thanks

1920x1200 is an odd one (aspect ratio 48:25). The commoner one is 1920x1080 (aspect ratio 16:10). Are you sure about your resolution?

Have you looked at the Trello boards recently? You'll see that True Type Fonts are on the Roadmap one. Remember that TTFs (and OTFs) are scaleable. On the other board (can't remember what it's called but it's the one you can vote for stuff) at the top of the UI list is a complete UI overhaul and a little further down you'll see make ui fully scalable at any resolution. Have you voted?

On your question of current scalability I don't think it is currently possible to have fractional values.

One little observation of EE. Because of what I've done for the ccc for this month I've noticed one improvement already. Floaty text (over the heads of NPCs and PCs) on a modern monitor is so much clearer in EE than 1.69.

Check your math Tarot.

1920x1200 is 16:10. It's a fairly common monitor resolution, it's also my main screen at home.

1920x1080 is 16:9, which is the most common, but the problem exists here as well, and if anything, is worse.

150% scaling should be quite possible. It's just a matter of getting a correct font. It doesn't have to be TTF.

Of all the simple things they could be doing, this is largest dropped ball, because on the most common resolution 150% scaling is the MOST needed step.

While it is nice the provide an option to make the UI bigger on 4K screens.

The number of 4K screens is miniscule compared to the number of 1920x1080 screens where the current UI is too small (especially on laptops) but no option has been added for people in this situation.
