You should've said that from the beginning, since that makes perfect sense! I will update that today! (Was away on holiday with no PC access!)

BelowTheBelt  .......
Just when does PAD end? You say the 25th, but is that the end of the 25th or the end of the day on the 24th?
I just want to know when we can go back to our regular Kissmet mod and when the logs are stopped from being saved.

Thanks!

The event should end at midnight (your time) on the 25th, so that there are a full 15 days to the event.

Home stretch now!

Once we're all done, I'll update with directions on where to send the logfiles and how to package them.

Thanks, everyone!

Today is the last day of NWPAD.

There's still time for players to earn check-ins and be in the running for the Random NPC prize at the very least.

Next Steps:

1)  Remove the NWPAD chest(s) and the sign at midnight, your local time.  You can also delete the script.

2)  Create a zipped package containing the unedited logfiles of the days for the NWPAD event (7/10 - 7/25).   Logfiles should be named:  WORLDNAME_DATE

3)  Log into the forums at arenthyor.com.  Send me, DMSabre, a private message there with the zipped file (the forum only accepts zipped files as attachments, hence the need to zip them up).

There is no way I'm going to stay up until midnight. Besides, I'm on PST time. I'm going to close mine at 9pm PST which is midnight EST. Close enough!
Also, this is going to be strange to you, BelowTheBelt... but our host is near Amsterdam, so the logs are in that time zone which is 9 hours ahead of me. I'll make that reminder note in the log files.

I'm also glad I made a seperate SQL folder for this time. With the 200xp per area exploring, it tells me if players just logged in for the NWPAD notes or they made an attempt to check out our server. Maybe even got some goodies from the Savenger Hunt chests. I had also moved all player accounts to a safe servervault folder since our 2003 mod didn't have haks and players needed to create new characters. Players actually had fun with that. So, 9pm tonight, I will be putting all those accounts back (just rename the folders), transfer the new characters and accounts and then make notes who participated so that if they come back, I will have a special gift for them. And lastly.... the 2003 Kinky kingdom PAD mod will be brought down and then uploaded to the NWN Vault for anyone to keep as a momento. Kissmet 2017 will be brought back and I do hope PAD "hoppers" might come back and see what we are like now.

Overall, this was fun. We had enought time to create a mod with no haks to make it easier for visits. 2003 was not impressive but seems our regular players were very appreciated on how Kissmet got started. I don't think just putting our name on the PAD list was enough for me to show my appreciation for my players and all of NWN community to stick around and keep playing this old game. I had a LOT of fun but I couldn't do it without my son's help with scripts and setting up our "Progenitors Event" to send us .... back to the future!

My appreciation to all you players who have stuck around will be our Kinky Kingdom 2003 PAD mod and maybe you all might be able to get some good scripting stuff. Fishing, special creature scripts, scavenger hunt chest scripts, and even take a look at our Planar Focus scripts in which you place an item into an objec and it makes a wild vfx and makes some plcs appear with glowing colors! Maybe some of you know how to do all that, or maybe take what we have to save you time!  We'll comment out the code that saves the SQL database information about explored areas and just search for Kissmet on the NWN Vault to even watch and maybe enjoy our video!

I just got back from my holidays and saw this message. I hope we can still send in the files. I don't have access to the server, but I can get the admin to send them tomorrow.

As an update to everyone:

I'm processing log files now for the servers who have sent them.  Thanks to everyone who's sent them in so far (or tried to, at least - there was a hiccup in my ability to recieve them).

I am hoping to receive and process all the logs this week and announce winners.  If that changes, I'll let everyone know.

I've processed logfiles for 7 of the 8 worlds.  It's cool to see so many players logging into the different worlds in true World Walker fashion!

Still need logfiles for the following worlds:

  1. Harrowport (they tried to upload, but the forum wouldn't accept the attachemt, so they just need to reupload again)

Please upload those as soon as possible.  The players are looking for us to announce winners...and so am i! :D

Updated to reflect remaining world.

Excellent, thanks Jade!  I updated the above post.

The remaining two have them ready (as they've already tried to give them to me), so it's just a matter of getting them again.

The World Walkers are starting to emerge, but with 2 more servers to report, it's still anybody's game!

The cool thing is that it really comes down to Harrowport.  The difference between the leader and the next closest participant is easily within reach of what Haoowport can deliver.  In fact, it's true of all the World Walker current standings.  Fates can rise and fall based on how often participants visited Harrowport!

Drumroll please!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the World Walker Challenge.  This was a fantastic series of events spanning 8 different worlds over the course of more than two weeks.  In total, we had over 70 confirmed participants, though there were likely many more who participated, but did not pull a NWPAD certificate for whatever reason.  In total across the participating worlds, we had well over 300 daily check-ins by the completion of the Challenge.  It was awesome to see and hear about people logging into new worlds and meeting new people.

What's more, I think the community of participants drew a little closer.  I met new people and enjoyed hopping to different worlds with them.  I'm hoping we can build on that in the spirit of cross-world cooperation that benefits us all.  More to come there.

Below iare the winners of the World Walker Challenge.  Congratulations to them!

Heroic Adventurers

Heroic Adventurers - these are the players who ranked 5th - 8th.  They braved the harsh and unforgiving landscapes of new and alien worlds.  They fought fantastical beasts and uncovered treasured innumerable.  Theirs is a lonely journey, but they are better for walking it.

Consolation Prize - the Random NPC

Last, and possibly least, is our Random NPC, that red-shirt NPC who always has a quest to give and doesn't care how many times the PC steals his or her life savings.  The Random NPC aspires to one day be a true adventurer but for now must be content with a free copy of Dragon's Dogma:  Dark Arisen.

Our Random NPC is:  Archbaker
