Theme Descriptions

Why So Serious?: D&D is not always a game of serious topics and deadly combat. Sometimes things just end up a little bit (or a lot) obsurd. This decade old game could use a few more things that are just plain silly or carefully considered D&D humor. A gazebo monster, or a door that looks like a large jar. A band of gnome pickpockets that steal footwear. An overly curious NPC that just follows PCs around until they leave the area. A jester that tells random jokes. A longsword model that looks like a Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. A set of prefab books with humorous descriptions and titles. Apprentice-scribed spells scrolls that have unforseen effects. A short quest that just ends up ridiculous halfway through before having a normal ending. A henchman that has a 25% chance on seeing any human (or elf, or dwarf, etc.) of voicing a crude insult about said being. Be creative!

Elemental Planes Stuff: Creatures, structural placeables, tilesets, weapons, armor, environmental effects (scripting is CC too!), sounds, etc.
{ Suggested by: The Amethyst Dragon }

Filth: Piles of steaming U-No-What, assorted rubbish, muddy pools and anything else that will make villages and towns just a tad more authentic than the current pristine places that we currently build.
{ Suggested by: Tarot Redhand }

Dinosaurs!: Dinosaurs of all types (maybe even completely original fantasy Dinosaurs), plus other prehistoric reptiles (pterosaurs, mosasaurs, pelycosaurs, etc), prehistoric fish (Dinicthys and other placoderms), extinct invertebrates (Eurypterids, etc), and even extinct mammals - imagine an Andrewsarchus roaming the streets of Neverwinter!
{ Suggested by: PLUSH HYENA of DOOM }

Not Just Walking XP: Make goblins more interesting than just two-dimensional walking XP for many low level PCs. They should have goblin-made lairs (placeables, tiles), they should have goblin-made/found weapons, armor, treasure (item models or prefabs), they should use devious traps (scripts), they should use underhanded tactics (ai scripts, encounters, etc.), they should have interesting pets (prefabs, models), they should have better quests for them (beyond "bring back 10 goblin ears"), and they should have more personality (conversations, one-liners, etc.). Goblins also have ancestral enemies (such as ugly, hairy, grumpy dwarves) that might have spells/items that target goblins. Kobolds should also be included in this theme.

Tile Magic: Tilesets in NWN are fairly static affairs, but tile magic enables a builder to introduce dynamic elements like a flood of lava throughout a dungeon level. While tile magic has been useful for adding floods of liquids in our dungeons, I do not believe its potential has been tapped yet. There is great potential here as it enables a builder to introduce dynamic elements to a tile especially animations that respond to a player rather than being set on or off by the builder and then stuck that way.

Some ideas I have had recently include: the standard ruin features in various standard tilesets could have ghostly glowing ethereal versions of the intact building which are spawned during nights of the full moon. Several tilesets have buildings with chimneys that can be turned on by the builder to emit smoke. I'd like to have a VFX that looks just like those smoke emitters in the tileand thus be able to turn the chimney smoke on or off via script. How about dangly mesh cobwebs that can be spawned or despawned on the walls of various crypt tiles? Or the tile patterns in the ruins tileset suddenly come to life with a magical glow?

Urban Adventures: City areas, inhabitants, features, locations, districts, City Centers, Slums, Shops, and Monuments, city-dwellers, urban monsters, and challenges.
{ Suggested by Carcerian }

The Hyborian Age: A challenge focused in the universe of Conan the Barbarian; novels, comics, films, etc...
{ Suggested by: Shemsu-Heru }

Hidden Secrets and New Traps: Concealed doors, secret magic doors, opening bookshelves, rotating walls, floor secret entrances, secret hides, secret compartment containers, animated secret control switch mecanisms, secret puzzle boxes, special locks, etc.

Tiger or elephant traps, wolf traps, mouse traps, retracting stairs / sliding traps, rolling boulders, swinging trunk traps, fire pits, glue stuff, working wall spiked traps (standard existing one has just one fixed orientation!), ceiling spikes, crushing walls, crushing giant boots, crushing 1 Ton weights, giant cuting blades, water / sand filling rooms, paint traps, fishnet's traps, realistic trap fall and trap exit systems, new trapped artifacts, alarm sound devices, alarm bells, etc.
{ Suggested by: CaveGnome }

Winter Holidays: How about a Christmas tree that attacks the PC if he tries to cut it down? Perhaps a one-horse open sleigh, a flying sleigh pulled by eight tiny reindeer, a giant, bulging sack with presents sticking out the top. A 'santa' outfit. Santa caps. A placeable manger. A placeable star with streaming light. Placeable icicles. How about a candy cane weapon? Symbols of other winter holidays, like a menorah or yule log.
{ Suggested by Pstemarie & Frith5 }

The Known World of Mystara: Mystara, also known as "the Known World of D&D" was the default setting of "Basic" or "non-Advanced D&D" and the home of such classic modules as B3: Palace of the Silver Princess, B5: The Lost City, and X1: Isle of Dread. Content can be of classic Mystaran creatures such as the decapus, archer bush, pegatuar or athach; new player race models such as the rakasta, lupin and tortle; flags and banners and such from Known World nations such as Karameikos, Alphatia, and Glantri; altars and holy symbols for Mystaran Immortals; or miscellaneous placeables/tilesets based on Alphatian airships, statues of famous NPCs or Immortals, prefabs based on classic magic items or classic dungeon settings, and more!
{ Suggested by Bluebomber4evr }

A Song of Ice and Fire / A Game of Thrones: Content inspired by both the book series and tv show. Everything from equipment and armor of the Seven Kingdom such as the Armor of the Kingsguard and Greater Houses, Master Chains, the Helmet of the Hound, or Eddard's blade Ice; tilesets to replicate Kingslanding and the Wall; clothing options of the westerosi and foreign fashion; creatures such as the Whitewalkers and Others; placeables like the Iron Throne, the carved map table of Dragonstone, the green flames of the Wildfire, or the corpses of the aftermath of the RW.
{ Suggested by Snugglehoof }

World of The Elder Scrolls: A high fantasy roleplaying world. Content based on things like Imperial, Dwemer, Bonemold, and Daedric armors. Perhaps Daedric or Dragonbone style weapons. Various artifacts like Mahrunes Razor. Marrowing/Oblivion/Skyrim style creatures. Landscapes filled with giant mushrooms to beautiful Night skies filled with auroras and nebulas. Nirn-style subraces such as Nords, Bretons, Dwemer, White Elves and insdious Daedra.
