The NWN Alignment Manager (or simply NAM) allows you to easily change your character's alignment in whatever module you're playing. Primarily intended to counter unjustified alignment shifts while playing single-player modules (and we've all suffered from those), the NAM also enables you to bypass alignment restrictions and create multiclass combinations like Bard/Paladin/Blackguard with ease. Although designed for single-player games, the NAM also works in multiplayer session, but it can't be used while playing on persistant world servers; so there's no need to panic, my dear PW admins and DMs. :) Installation of the NAM is very easy, and the extensive ReadMe explains everything you need or want to know. It *should* work with all version of NWN and not require any expansions, but it definitely works with v1.68 regardless of what expansions you have installed. Since the NAM doesn't modify any existing files but simply adds a few, it works perfectly fine with all the other stuff you might have in your override folder, and also all modules using HAK packs. You only need to download either the .RAR or the .ZIP archive. Both are only 384 KB small (uncompressed archives; rather pointless to pack something that small) and include the ReadMe.pdf file. Updated to Bioware patch 1.69!!! Both downloads (.ZIP and .RAR) now contain both the new version requiring 1.69 (see below for changes), and also the old version still running with 1.68 for those players who didn't get a patch for their respective language. The files for both version are in two seperate folders, NAM_168 and NAM_169. Simply copy the files of your prevered version into the override folder. If you already have the old version installed and now want to use the v1.69 version, simply overwrite all files when prompted. The updated 1.69 version now displays the according Alignment Titles (e.g. Crusader, Destroyer, Free Spirit) if you character qualifies for such a title. But more important and convenient is that in multiplayer games, the character who alignment is to be changed doesn't have to leave the party anymore. He can change his alignment all the way he wants without affecting the alignments of other player characters. Have fun! :D |

A very helpful utility.
Agreed. Very useful.
Is there any way possibly this could be updated to NWNEE?.I was only able to "spawn" it and have the "playing cards" in my inventory but the display box to change anything doesnt come up. This seems like a perfect tool especially when you do an action and get penalized for a honest mistake.!!...I hate that...I'm playing a Champion of Torm player, with rogue secondary..
Ok, ok I originally put this file in the NWN "main" override folder, after writing my above comment I thought I would take a chance and put it in the MyDocuments/NWN folder where I put future mods into. Well now it works.Little pop-up screen comes up....niiiiiice..!!
ty so much for this...!!!
I can not seem to get this mod to work with NWN 1 EE (gog edition). I have tried override folders in the main directory & the document one. I do not get any errors, it's just that the item does not spawn & no windows pop up. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
For Windows EE, you need to put the files in Documents > Neverwinter Nights > Override.
If the item will not spawn, check that you are in Debug mode, that the dm_spawnitem name matches the file name exactly (without the extension), and that the cursor is pointing at walkable ground when you issue the command.
That ought to work in any module. However, according to the documentation, once spawned, the item will not work in the OC, only in SoU, HotU and more recent community modules.
Thank you for the fast response. I will definately give this a try.
I am trying to use it in the "A Hunt Through The Dark XP" modules from Markus 'Wayne' Schlegel. I am not sure if his mod is compatible.
This is a great utility that does exactly what it says. In older modules, like the OC, you'll have to use DebugMode to run the script manually, but the readme gives very good directions.
I uninstalled it recently only because the character customization hak by Kamiryn also includes alignment shifts in its cheat mode, but I have no complaints at all about how this alignment manager works (and it allows bigger alignment shifts than the CCOH does, if that's something that you prefer).
Edited to Add: I actually ended up reinstalling it. The other mod is lovely and has many other uses, but the alignment manager is much quicker and more effective when it comes to reversing those unfair alignment shifts. And it can be used even in custom modules when crafting adjustments might make the CCOH impossible to use. Thank you for making it!
