Cockatrices for NWN2
Installation:
For the hak version:
Install the files into the Neverwinter Nights 2 directory found under your My Documents folder as follows:
For the override version:
Additional information: the blueprint uses the D&D stats (not sure about the version though).
The blueprint uses my version of the cockatrix, with bat wings. I found a model on cadnav (here), just use the armor set #1 (instead of 0) on the last tab of the blueprint.
The blueprint is sized at half the model size, which could still be quite large.
Finally, the cockatrix is tintable, but do not hesitate to tweak the tint map!

Kamal found some things that needed improvement, namely:
* the "chicken" version had the feet too deep in the ground
* the "lizard" version had texture issues (hole between the tail and the right leg) and the feathers on the back were shimmering.
* I also reworked the top of the head.
=> for the hak version: the package has been totally replaced, just redownload it if you did so previously.
=> for the override version: download first the first version, then overwrite three files with the override fix archive.
Kamal a découvert quelques améliorations à apporter, à savoir :
Perfect.
I also appreciate that the creature is tintable.
Thank you for putting these together!
Sorry for the first ten users, I'm afraid a new download is in order: due to an extra space at the end of the last line of appearance.2da (yep, not an easy one to find!), sometimes hostile monsters decided not to attack the PC anymore.
This won't happen again with these new packages.
Holy cow the first model has a high poly count: 21k
There's a lot of stretching of the neck on the second model with the idle animation. At least in Blender.
So many? I'll work on the poly count this week-end, and look at the stretching of the neck on the second model at the same time.
Thanks for the report.
Good work!
@rjshae, "Holy cow the first model has a high poly count: 21k"
How did you get this value? Isn't it the sum of the main model faces with its _L01 and _L02 versions? I've got 6,664 + 4,274 + 2,744, but for some reason the version I uploaded has 6,664 + 7,421 + 7,421 (I suspect the modifier for polycount reduction wasn't applied before export). But I can't find a model with 21k faces.
That was just the total reported by Blender. In thinking about it, that's probably including the COLS faces. I see now that the c_cockatrice_cl_body01 has 6,612 faces, so I apologize for the overcount. It's still on the high side.
Nice work, I love to see new content.
Hi, newb here and struggling to be able to use this in a module. can you elaborate on the install steps to be able to use?
Thanks
