Any way to turn off the new Twitter tweet box on the right?
It makes content almost unreadable on tablets.

Edit your account and deselect the Twitter Block.

How is it unreadable? I've tested on Android and it looked fine there (apart from the frontpage box overflowing, but that was never designed for tablets in the first place). In any case, to make the whole affair mobile-friendly we'd have to do a complete redesign.
No changes to the editor or any other part of the site, so any lagginess must have external reasons.
Edit: I double-checked, and it's set to only show up on the front-page, as intended. Please let me know if there's any issues at all with it.
Forgive me for being blind but I don't see any twitter box at all on my win 10/win 7 desktop. Is it android only?

The Twitter box has disappeared but I disabled it anyway.
Any boxes on the rhs are bad news for tablets because screen width is limited.
