A fortress known to only the oldest of gods, the Shadowdancer's Vault lays a thick veil over the Underdark's darkest secrets. Countless have tried to find it, only to fail miserably... and those who do manage to enter the Vault... never come out. Will you be able to find the Shadowdancer's Vault before it is too late? Or will your many enemies, old and new, bring you down? -
The Shadowdancer's Vault is the sequel to Shrouded Sun. Like Shrouded Sun you must play a Drow, Duergar, Svirfneblin, or Half-Drow to play The Shadowdancer's Vault. (For story reasons of course.)
If you are a fan of traveling to other planes, doing battle with the minions of powerful gods, surviving in the ever dangerous Underdark, and facing both the evil forces of dark elves and the minflayers then the Shadowdancer's Vault may be the module for you.
Credit to Jonny Ree for his still awesome beholder model and credit to Wyrin for beta testing this module.
NOTE: You do not HAVE to play Shrouded Sun to understand the story in the Shadowdancer's Vault. You'll get a recap on the story in the form of a journal entry. The avatar that represents me will be willing to push you to the proper level as well.

This is superior to its predecessor, Shrouded Sun. Still, it's not for the faint-hearted. I have posted a complete walkthrough. Enjoy.
Gave this one another try thanks to Lilura's walkthrough stating you can avoid a bag-related insta-death, and it turned out to be entertaining. Very good battles and character choices for companions. Could have been bigger, badder and more meaningful, both in plot and resolution, but still a very decent, short module. If you have a bit of time and don't want to invest much time or effort in an adventure, this is a great pick.
Decent plot, decent battles, not a lot of role playing. I started a new Drow PC in A Hunt Through the Dark Remastered and worked it up to playing this module. Since I'm a pack-rat by nature, I had a good selection of +3 gear from the previous three modules with some spares to equip my party. That probably made the fights a bit on the easy side although still not walk-overs. There is an option at start up to strip your PC of gear and get a standard selection from the DM. For a real challenge, start a new PC and live on what you can scrounge.
The story is quite linear, there is never much doubt about what to do next. You only have to decide how evil you want to be in getting it done.
The only bug I hit was in conversation with the Librarian. If you don't touch the books and get some revenge for him, he will give you a nice ring on a successful diplomacy check. The ring fails to spawn.
Other than there not being an auto export or a chance to swap gear before the mod' ends, this was pretty well done.
