D20 Modern: Completion is Near

Hey, everyone, I’m back! Yes, I know, I haven’t posted in four weeks (or a month). I humbly apologize for that. But I’m sure everyone wants to know where I’ve been. So allow to go over that briefly.

When I was getting to the slums, I knew it was going an arduous task to animate all the windows. Luckily, it went smooth. However I didn’t want to post each week about the slums in how I animated the windows or how much progress I made. It took me two weeks to complete all the slums. That's including testing the walk-meshes, light sources, and so on. I knew maybe few to some of you wouldn’t mind reading those blogs. To me, however, after each blog, it’ll be jejune. I’ll be repeating the same or similar lines again. Additionally, sacrificing each Thursday to type out a blog is time consuming. But hey, I choose do to the weekly blog anyways, right? So I decided to skip as many weeks I need to complete the slums. When I look back, I should’ve gave everyone a heads up in what I was going to do. And for that, my apologizes.

All right, for the good and bad news and I’m going to summarize much as I can for the both of them. The good news first. The high-rises, slums, transits and both walls are now complete. I accomplished plenty of work done in the last month. For that, I’m almost done! The only remaining tiles I need to do are the both warehouses and water. The warehouses are going to have roof access points. And for water it’s going to receive two new crossers: a dock and railings. For the docks I choose a texture to be both still new and weathered wood. Basically it has seen some use overtime.

And now, for the bad news. For some oddity, the shadows aren’t being properly cast anymore. Which means I have to back from the top and correct the shadows. Luckily, it’s only half I need to correct. Aside from shadows, there’s a few run-off tiles that are no longer working. Plus the crosser tiles don’t have a run-off tile. The three of these should be an easy fix but it’ll be time consuming.

After looking back on my older blogs, a fellow player requested to make some dirty looking wall textures. Surprisingly, that’s the same idea I had but I thinking for the slums. This should give me another opportunity to do so.

Other than that, I’m getting closer and closer towards completion. Still no completion date, yet. I’m still taking in ideas you’d like to see added. If I don’t report in next Thursday, I’m taking that time to work on the tiles. As usual, hopefully, see you next week.
