D20 Modern: A Steady Progress

Week 3 update on the d20 Modern tilesets. Sorry for the wait, I was finishing up some household chores. Moreover, this has been a productive week. I've managed to get a little more done that I originally expected. I'm more satisfied, this time around, with highrise_01 and highrise_03. Highrise_01, in its original form, was dull and unappealing. My first attempt to remodel highrise_01 felt too generic. So, I scrapped it and started over. While highrise_03 was decent but it needed more here and there.

Now then, with the high-rises done for now, the aqueducts looks more clearer in terms of geometry. The poles of the fence had roughly 16 sides, but I reduced it only to six sides. The cyclone, or chain links, fence has gotten a new texture. The walls uses one texture and the texture has been saturated.

I haven't gotten around the sidewalks, the roads and streets, or the green bridge. But, I do plan to make the road to be used as a terrain other than groups. For the streets, it will be used as a crosser and can be connected to the road. There's a few textures in the hakpak that can serve better on these tiles.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I am going to add more tilesets: a subway, a state building (read the comments from my previous post: D20 Modern: A New Purpose and Limitations), a construction site, small business/office buildings, a junkyard, and new interiors. However I’m going to pick my tasks carefully. For the new tileset, I'll be researching, referencing, and working on the construction tilesets. Here's my two ideas for them:

- The first idea will be a building that's semi-complete, more specifically, a city's abandoned project. It will have exposed pipes and wirings, water-stains, graffiti, some windows are bordered up, and some grass and moss here and there.

- The second idea will be just the frame of a building, or is the middle of being built. For this one it will have paint buckets, simple lights, air ducts, pipes, stacked sheets of wood, tarps and wood shavings on the ground. Also, it will have (some sort of) second floor to allow players to get like a height advantage.

As I said before, I'm only remodeling the typical tiles. The corners, the sides and whatnot. Then, I'll return back and begin adding different variants and such. However, for the next couple of days, I'll be relaxing and cooling down. I've been working three weeks straight. Next update I may post some screenshots of the new tiles. If you guys and gals got any ideas of your own, or expand the ones I mentioned, let me know.
