The Adventures Of Fen Pocketsfull - Part Four Migrate Wizard 2015-09-21 4 years 7 months ago

“What's with the daft look on your face then Amber…don’t tell me you're falling for a Kender!?”

“Don’t be silly Peter!” seeing her brothers look of incomprehension, Amber sighed.

“I am the head mans daughter, when those others court me with flowers, they only do so because getting me as a catch will elevate their status in the group. The Kender has nothing to gain by offering me flowers, and for once it was nice to receive a genuine gift!” Looking at her brother sternly she poked him in the chest as they walked towards Fen

Harper isn't exactly hero material...she's a bard, a damn good one, and has spent most of her life blandishing tales about other people. And when her life is thrust onto a pinwheel track of death, danger, magic, and adventure, she finds more and more people look to her for answers. And more than a few are looking to her for something more...

Helios Sunforge - First Dwarf Neophyte of Pelor Migrate Wizard 2015-10-03 4 years 7 months ago

In the lower ranges near the mountains of Argon, a small clan of dwarves mined a mineral poor series of natural caverns. Once, many generations ago, the range offered a rich vein of iron and copper. Recently, the few remaining dwarves, mostly the immediate family of the most stalwart and stubborn of the oldest dwarves, Bengin Ironsinger, had been relying upon trade with a more prosperous Gnome village, repairing or crafting the many innovative (though often malfunctioning) wonders of the gnome inventors.

Dara struggled to pull herself up. She found the perfect place to climb on the western wall. The periapt was low enough and the masonry flawed enough for her to pull herself up. Her little hands searched for the cracks, thousand-year-old scars from the Siege of Aramis. She found them, recognizing the grainy surface of the thousand-year-old fissures. A smile crossed her face as she pulled herself up. As her head cleared the top of the periapt, a western breeze wrapped her face with a gentle greeting. With a last pull, Dara cleared the top of the periapt. She didn’t miss it. She let the scene fill her eyes; it’s majesty stirred in her, making her forget the climb and her aching muscles.

Amidst the screams of pain, amidst the wailing of victims whose minds and flesh were being torn to shreds, a man stood. Pale green eyes, unkempt gray hair, an aging, weathered face and a crumbling body, he stood emotionless, simply watching the scene, looking for some imperceptible sign only he could recognize that would single out one or more of the writhing bodies. Single it out for something less conventional than pain.

It all started, when Alinde Colds got her hands on a balor summoning gem, and decided to tame one as a pet. She was at my house with my sister Icilia, when she ordered the balor to "Sit on the Sofa". The balor, turned to the sofa, tossed out a fireball that burned up the sofa. Alinde is a very stubborn girl. She does not give up easily. I lost three sofas that day.

Solid Tears Migrate Wizard 2015-10-16 4 years 7 months ago

We always say we are not allowed to put our feelings into one of our character. But we must admit, there are few who really succeed at making their characters completely uninfluenced. This is a poem I wrote during a period in which I had fights all the time with a special person of mine, and is why I would like to submit this poem.

I wrote the poem with the idea of what pain is really about. All adventurers that roam around Neverwinter, fighting their way out of those dark places, wounded heavily, deadly. And it is only later on when we actually experienced the feeling, and become more wiser, that we fully understand what it means when one says: Words are more painful than physic pain.

And with this poem I wanted to show the other part, the more feeling part of my character. Which I am sure every character has, next to the blood spilling there is also the love, we all know the existence of but have to discover in our own way.

Feel free to use it, or comment (constructive) on it. I would love to hear what such users as yourself feel and think while reading this, and your experience. Please vote aswell, so I could have a reflection of the users' opinion.

Yours sincerely,

Over My Head

Arames Kragen sat on the edge of what served as his bed, staring a little too intently at a chair just out of arm's reach. As if he finally concluded that the chair was not going to come to him, he pulled himself up and went over to it. He ran his hand over his face, stretching his skin, as if he hoped it would help clear the cobwebs from his head.

Killian opened his eyes once the cool tingling stopped. He was not sure how the thing he stepped through worked, and he did not want to see what happened when it did. He was now standing back in the hallway he had been in with the two statues and the invisible wall, but they were now both gone. Thunder and Ethan still both lay on the ground unconscious. Ethan groaned as soon as Killian spotted the two and rolled to his side, one hand clutching his forehead. Thunder propped himself up on his elbow, one hand on his forehead as well.

Like a fairy causing ripples on a clear, spring pond it touched upon the children already out to play in the orange gleam of the dawn sun. Swirling through the open doors and windows of the small hamlet, it moved around the cobbler' s workplace, defied the beat of the smith's hammer and pulled the people from their homes. As tendrils of smoke spreading from house to house it soon had all those able standing in the street to see the source of the pleasant music.

Yathol's Revenge #3 Migrate Wizard 2015-10-13 4 years 7 months ago

This is an unpolished (but finished) story that takes place somewhere in the world that I created. It was written as a means of showing off the actions and abilities of Magic, in this case the Elemental Magic of Air. There will be 6 of these stories, for the 6 forms of magic: The four Elements (Air, Earth, Water, Fire), Spirit, and Nature magic. The four elements, are, as usual for elemental magic, tied together somewhat, although in a slightly different manner: Air opposes Fire, and Earth opposes Water. Spirit and Nature magic are entirely different, one based on the existence of the spirit world (think Greek Hades, as a general guide), and Nature magic, which is very totemic in nature. This story will be published in 4 installments.

The Stars are Bright Migrate Wizard 2015-10-03 4 years 7 months ago

The stars are bright tonight thought Cry as he stared into the clear, bright sky, beautiful points of fire in the heavens... His eyes traced the purple tides of galaxies across the skies until he found his favorite star, Cormus, named after the god of storms, the wanderer. As he watched a mass of clouds began to move across the horizon; he narrowed his eyes as it began passing over the herds of glimmering stars, approaching his. As the first wisp passed across it Cry began concentrating intently; the wisp of cloud thinned and the star became visible once again. There... He returned his attention to the rampart he was patrolling. The stones were slick underneath his sandaled feet, but he was used to it having lived by the sea all his life. He strode confidently across the narrow battlement, to lean against the low, stone wall. He scanned the shore of the small island; the beach was within easy walking distance of the fort and Cry could hear the comforting sound of the waves upon the shore. He closed his eyes remembering previous nights like this.

Wilderness: Book One - The Forest (Chapter Twenty - A Battle By Night) Migrate Wizard 2015-09-25 4 years 7 months ago

The battle cries of the dwarfs could be heard for many miles around as they poured out into the plains beyond the caves. Carek and Athena led their unit out of the great doors and into the dim moonlight. Over on the other side of the plains stood rank upon rank of skeletons and zombie warriors, marching steadily forwards, with the form of giant skeletons and giant zombies at the rear. The army was large, but Grom had expected worse. Looking around, he couldn't see the foul sorcerer anywhere. Had he deserted his forces to fight for him? It could have been a trap, but any sizeable reinforcements would have been spotted by the dwarven scouts. Grom knew that the moment to attack had arrived, and led the charge.

I found over the next few days the Old Boy had a mind of his own. He might pace me, so that I saw him ten times in a day; just as like I might not see him for a day. Having a companion of some sorts was a boon to me, because I was sure fire miserable on the trail. The burn on my arm hurt so much, and chafed under my pack and clothes that there were times I felt like crying; 'course, there was no one to see me loose my cool, and no one to feel sorry for me. But it sure hurt, and as the day grew hot in the middle, I would sweat like pig, and the salt sweat was like hot pitch where my burn had cracked.

As Simeron walked out the door of his small home in Underhill, he could sense something was wrong. He could feel it in his bones and beard. The darkened street was totally empty of life. No beggars or urchins, no travelers, not even a rat was out...except him. He didn't like it at all but, he had a job to do and by Mordains hammer, he was going to get it done. So, with a heavy sigh, he hefted his own hammer and shield and walked out of his small house, locking the door behind him. He wished to be with his fellows this night, sitting in front of a warm hearth spinning tales over warm honey mead with a cinnamon stick. It was Magnus that had got him started on that brew on a dare and now, while a good dwarven ale still tasted good, he honestly preferred the mead. He was torn from his musing by something in the back of his head that screamed an alarm. Reacting on pure reflex and instinct, he dropped to one knee and raised his shield in a defensive mode. A loud KLANG resounded off it as he felt a heavy blow strike first the shield, then his door. He turned to see a rather shocked human dressed in black studded leather and wielding a pair of jagged black orc scimitars. He was ugly, even for a human but as Simeron caught his scent all became clearer.

Dear Strumpet - Barbarian Thong Migrate Wizard 2015-11-09 4 years 7 months ago

Dear Strumpet,

For the last five years I’ve been traveling throughout the countryside plying my trade as an adventurer. I’m a barbarian by birth, but my mother always encouraged me to expand my horizons so whenever possible I’ve taken the time to educate myself with reading or conversing with the local bard on ancient lore. Now I’m used to adversity, as a female warrior I am accustomed to the uphill battle in making a name for myself and earning respect. As time went on however, I eventually got some regular work defending small villages from marauders and thwarting an evil warlord or too.

Project Dialogue Migrate Wizard 2015-11-11 4 years 7 months ago

A few weeks ago, I was trying to think about how the official campaign could have been improved upon, and I realized there's something that has been lost in the evolution of RPG games as far as BioWare handles it. I'm speaking of the dialogue between NPC characters and the more I think about it, the more I'm beginning to dislike the dialogue box. Yes it works very well, and the conversation editor in the toolset makes it really quite easy, but it's the closed system aspect of it that I think bothers me the most. By that I mean, the limited number of choices steering you through a set path.

Some Thoughts on Alignment Migrate Wizard 2015-11-11 4 years 7 months ago

An important part of your roleplaying experience is alignment. While a player should never feel pressure to pick a certain alignment; they should be held to their choice and to the logical ramifications of that choice. The biggest challenge facing players and DMs in terms of alignment is confusion over definitions. If you as a player have a very different standard of Lawful Good than I do as DM there will be problems.
